JOB BRIEF (PURPOSE)
Lead, manage and provide direction to a team of sales officers and sales support staff across a diverse geography in support of Key Merchant Services clients. Lead team to acquire new relationship clients and deepen existing relationships by providing merchant solutions to help clients manage their businesses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible for managing a Merchant Services virtual sales team with approximately 10 direct reports.
  • Responsible for developing sales goals, plans, and strategies for adding and growing Merchant Services relationships.
  • Provides leadership and motivation to Merchant Services Sales Executives in attaining sales goals.
  • Works with KeyBank Segment Leaders to develop sales plans and strategies to expand the merchant portfolio in key business verticals.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and evaluating Merchant Services Sales Advisors.
  • Responsible for training of new Merchant Services Sales Advisors.
  • Responsible for ongoing sales training of Merchant Services Sales Advisors.
  • Contributes to the development of training programs for Merchant Services Sales Advisors.
  • Contributes to the development of marketing material for Merchant Services.
  • Manages responsibilities for strategic merchants include partnership opportunities that cross-sell new products, new business opportunities and own retention and renewal efforts with in the assigned region/markets/verticals
  • Works closely with Merchant Sales Advisors to set revenue and profitability targets.
  • Works to develop national new business and referral opportunities.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the Sales Advisors.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing and training plans as needed.
  • Conducts one-on-one reviews with all Virtual Sales Advisors to build more effective communications, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for the improvement of Sales Advisor’s performance.
  • Ensure Sales Advisors are pricing appropriately and ensuring proper profitability on all accounts.
  • Assists Sales Advisors with preparation of proposals and presentations to small and mid-sized businesses.
  • Adheres to all bank policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures these are communicated and implemented within the sales team.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with executive management, finance, sales support, product, legal, branch banking, business banking, commercial banking, small business, public sector and private banking.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales management with 2-3 years Merchant Services industry experience
  • Proven leadership ability to motivate sales teams and achieve sales goals
  • Experience in complex solution selling with longer sales cycles to large sized companies
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship skills
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Established industry relationships
  • Willingness to travel
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
