Job Description


•Manages and contributes to KeyBank’s strategy and architecture for copy

•Informs and expands on KeyBank’s digital brand guidelines and editorial style guide and ideates and writes copy that is always on tone and on brand

•Reframes requests as user centered problems and focuses on crafting solutions and uses empathy, logic and hard data to inform copy choices

•Collaborates with Key Studio design and strategy as well as product managers, engineers, marketing and customer operations to identify the best approach to communicate to the user

•Influences and is involved in product initiatives from Discovery through Implementation, from research to fixing a comma right before launch

•Anchors work in the Key Design Studio foundations: Key Design System, the Design Thinking Curriculum and Research

•Keeps abreast of competitor products and industry trends

•Works with the Engagement Leads and the Research Capability Manager to conduct copy validation such as usability testing
•Advocates for Design Thinking and Key Studio principles across the organization Minimum


•5 - 8 years of experience as a journalist, copywriter, communications specialist, UX writer or content strategist including experience writing for digital product, how to guides, tutorials, online learning and/or instructional design.

•Ability to think big and understand complex feature sets

•Skilled at translating complicated topics into easy to understand language

•Demonstrates passion for great user experience

•Displays excellent oral and written communication skills

•Has a proven ability to deliver results

•Strong portfolio with a breadth of experience across a range of industries

•Able to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs
