Job Description


The Tax Analyst is a tax professional with subject matter expertise responsible for the preparation of fiduciary, charitable and individual income tax reporting for Key Private Bank relationships. The position lends a critical eye to annual and periodic tax reporting. Provides advice to other members of the client service team that is proactive and relevant; and follows through to ensure that year-end tax reporting supports the implementation of the advice. Prepares presentations of tax advice and strategies to internal and external clients and audiences based on subject matter expertise.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepare tax returns:
• Review and maintain tax information on trust accounting system and vendor tax system
• Investigate client transactions to determine appropriate tax treatment
• Assist fiduciary and portfolio strategists with client meetings, cash flow needs for tax payments and income tax impact of selected investments
• Assemble all necessary tax information for assigned trust accounts
• Prepare tax returns for a more complex set of assigned accounts

  • Calculate and pay quarterly estimated taxes for assigned set of accounts
  • Prepare and present topical research to internal and external audiences.
• Respond to queries from trust administrators and clients
• Manage and respond to taxing authority requests

Maintain tax professional knowledge:
• Participate in professional training opportunities including seminars and self –learning opportnities
• Perform related duties within department including maintenance of trust database
• Maintain own files, purge and transfer to record center

Actively participate on the Trust Tax team:
  • Provide backup and support for other members of the team.
  • Serve as a resource for the team on projects as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4 years of college or equivalent work experience, accounting or finance preferred.
  • Must have bank trust tax experience or its equivalent in a high volume fiduciary tax preparation setting
  • Must have ability to plan own workflow to meet strict tax deadlines..
