Sr. Technical Lead for the VIP Modernization Project.
Technical Lead is responsible for determining Technical Tasks required for the project, assigning Task to Technical team resources, tracking and managing Technical aspects of the project. Lead a team of Technicians on Project work. Planning, tracking and executing technical tasks required for the project.
Responsible for working with vendor for development and to resolve Technical issues.
VIP Modernization Project is currently in Delivery Phase. Targeted to move into QV/UA testing by August 2019. Initial implementation targeted for November 2019. Full production rollout will take 5-6 months.
The VIP Modernization project will implement a new web based Item Processing application from IBM called Financial Transaction Manager for Check (FTM4C). This new application will replace several legacy applications, some of which are 30 years old! Two of these legacy applications are Check Processing & Control System (CPSC) and a Software Earnings ATM Balance and Control and Reject Repair applications currently use by KeyBank’s Virtual Item Processing Operations team. FTM4C will offer users a centralized, web-based check processing application. This is a top priority project for the organization.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead Technical resources in Project tasks. Tech Lead experience required.
  • Familiarity with DB2 LUW and work with the project DBAs.
  • General understanding of various technologies related to this project: Firewalls, TAM, MQ. Active Directory, LDAP, code management.
  • Ability to multitask on direct responsibilities while delegating (and overseeing, as needed) other work to resources such as the various shared services teams and core project resources.
  • Manage IBM problem cases for this project – relaying details to/from IBM and driving weekly case calls with IBM.
  • Ideally participate with the FTM User Group community and be an active advocate for Key Bank’s need in this community and in front of IBM.
  • 360 degrees communication skills – management, colleagues, vendors, project resources, Ops.
  • Documentation skills - creating/updating documentation, including workflow & system diagrams.
  • Running multiple weekly calls – agendas, notes, action items. This includes leading weekly KB Tech meeting and KB/SCI Tech meetings.
  • Providing documented Weekly updates/status on all Technical Tasks (from all technicians) to Project Manager
  • Work in unison with Project Manager and Business Analyst/Test Lead on project needs.
  • Report Project Issues/Roadblocks immediately
  • Ability to Escalate Project issues/concern as needed

Required Qualifications/Skillset
  • Item Processing and MICR Banking knowledge
  • Check Platform knowledge – CPCS/IPD or FTM
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Understanding and experience with multiple Key systems and LOB’s
  • Interact with internal and external partners at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, communications and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven Technical Lead experience with exceptional attention to detail
  • Java Knowledge
  • Red Hat Linux
  • Windows OS
  • Mainframe COBOL/DB2; CPCS knowledge;
  • Scripts (for transmissions, etc) - PowerShell, VB scripting, Linux shell scripting
  • Code repository tool -- Teamforge/SVN – soon to be replaced by Atlassian Bitbucket/GIT
  • Code promotion tool XLR (XL release). Endeavor on the Mainframe
  • Application Alerts - Tivoli/Netcool
  • CMOD for awareness understanding check images and report storage in CMOD
  • Splunk (soon to be ELK)
  • X9 Assist
  • Notepad ++, Ultra edit, Beyond Compare, IBM Data Studio
