Job Description

Responsible for overseeing reporting / accounting functions for assigned portfolios of loans serviced by Key Bank for Fanniemae, Freddiemac, other private investors and/or the functions related to the loans sold on a service released basis. Complete all aspects of the day-to-day management of reporting and accounting for our more complex, larger investor portfolios with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include acting as the primary reporting and remittance liasion for the assigned portfolios, ensuring all accounting and remittance requirements, are completed timely and accurately. Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of mortgage system and Investor requirements and capabilities associated with assigned investors. Perform other duties and assignments as required.

• Monitor daily / monthly reporting to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and private investors, as assigned.
• Prepare required periodic investor remittances accurately and timely; ensuring all such remittances are completed in accordance with investor requirements and no late reporting penalties are incurred.
• Perform monthly custodial bank account and general ledger account reconciliations as required by bank and investor guidelines.
• Ensure appropriate coordination amongst loan servicing and other investor related functions which impact Investor reporting/remittances are completed timely and accurately, and comply with investor requirements.
• Assist in developing and maintaining detailed process documents and procedures, as necessary, for assigned functions.
• Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Key Bank’s mortgage servicing and financial systems.
• Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable investor systems and their reporting and accounting methodologies.
• Complete accounting processes and entries associated with Secondary Marketing Loan Sales, ensuring all entries completed timely and accurately.
• Complete all post sale processes related to loans sold on a service release basis. Such processes would include sale accounting entries, borrower and third party correspondence, loan servicing system updates/transactions, and working with purchaser to resolve any/all items related to such sales.
• Perform other assignments/projects as requested by management.
• Support Department training and cross-training initiatives and assume support role for other team member’s investor portfolios, as needed. Oversee the activities of Investor Reporting Specialists as assigned.
• Serve as mentor and share expertise and experience with fellow members of the Investor Reporting team and be willing to assume departmental leadership role in manager’s absence.
• Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, Key’s Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, three to five years mortgage experience, or 2+ years mortgage accounting experience
• Ability to adapt quickly and succeed in a fast paced and dynamic environment

• Strong computer skills related to EXCEL, ACCESS, and WORD

• Experience with Key Bank mortgage servicing and financial systems preferred.
