Job Description

The Consumer Deposits and Pricing Group Manager reports to the Director, Consumer Deposits, Lending, Pricing and Strategy and is accountable for the financial performance and strategic direction of KeyBank’s consumer deposit products. The Group Manager is accountable for leading, coaching, developing and motivating product managers focused on a balance sheet of over $27 billion consistent of savings, money market, and certificates of deposit (CD). This team will also influence pricing strategy for consumer and business banking checking, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and retirement deposit products. As a thought leader and developer of talent, the Group Manager oversees the functions of deposit product management, pricing and profitability.

Essential to this position is an acute focus on the deposit product line strategy and pricing, and partnership with Client Analytics and Finance to determine strategies to drive client growth, revenue and profitability goals. The Group Manager is accountable for coaching, developing and motivating the consumer deposits team while simultaneously being able to articulate and execute a growth strategy that enhances KeyBank's position in the marketplace, effectively drives client acquisition and improves loyalty metrics, including share of wallet growth, engagement and retention.

The role also requires close collaboration with partners including but not limited to Consumer and Business Banking Segment, Client Insights, Treasury, Marketing, Key Technology and Operations, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Technology, Risk, Communications, and Sales Delivery to profitably grow the Consumer Deposit product portfolio.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Accountable for product profitability analysis on an ongoing basis to ensure the continued profitability and competiveness of all consumer deposit products and services, establishing pricing opportunities for new and existing deposit products/services
  • Lead deposit rate and pricing strategy, including strategic decisions that pertain to behavior of clients, balances, and transactions; household view of client product ownership and behavior; peer & competitive performance; and macroeconomic conditions. Accountable for consumer deposit portfolio of over $27 billion, as well as influencing pricing strategy across all consumer and business banking deposit products.
  • Lead decisions on day-to-day rates and pricing
  • Work closely with Treasury and Finance on Key corporate deposit funding needs, beta forecasting, LCR flows, Funds Transfer Pricing methodology
  • Partner closely with Analytics & Insights on elasticity curves, pricing strategies, and scenario planning
  • Coordinate the enhancement of existing consumer deposit products by establishing and championing an innovation mindset
  • Own the end-to-end client experience of consumer deposit products, as well as end-to-end view of risk management and compliance
  • Oversee business process as it relates to deposit product design, operations, marketing and sales delivery of consumer deposit products
  • Oversee activities within the cross-functional teams of implementation, technology, credit risk, legal, finance, sales, marketing, training and sales and service support through Consumer and Business Banking Segment, e.g. campaign ideas that lead to growth achievement of stated business objectives
  • Oversee vendor management activities related to managing consumer deposit products
  • Assist with monitoring competitive, legal, industry and economic environment to determine the impact on new or existing consumer deposit products
  • Assist with researching and informing market demands and variables, industry trends, competitive situations, new successful ideas and methods in the design and management of consumer deposit products
  • Develop client acquisition and onboarding strategies in support of the Consumer Segment business objectives
  • Assist with establishing sales goals, profit margin and tracking actual results against defined goals
  • Collaborate with support partners to effectively market and sell deposit products and services
  • Collaborate with marketing support partners to implement effective deposit products and services marketing strategies throughout the Community Bank to meet stated business and marketing plan objectives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, KeyBank policies and risk profile by working with legal, compliance, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) teams, operations, technology, audit, risk and other areas to create an environment of strong risk management practices and compliance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or finance required. Advanced degree preferred
  • 7-10 years in product management and pricing experience with a heavy emphasis in financial services industry
  • 3+ years proven management experience
  • Proven experience in effective leadership and change management with the ability to manage, coach and champion a successful sales team
  • Ability to establish and maintain affective collaborative partnerships among line of business segment, sales teams, and support partners
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, leadership, and organizational skills, in addition to good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead change
