Job Brief (Purpose):
As part of the Data and Analytics Team within Finance, responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, (1) Supporting the design, development, implementation, and on-going validation of data and analytics processes in support of Key’s client profitability platform; (2) Creating and managing processes used to ensure financial integrity relative to various client profitability processes. (3) Working both independently and as a lead for cross-functional teams to perform business, data and application analysis to gather and document business requirements on a variety of strategic project initiatives, (4) Building strong stakeholder relationships; and understanding and delivering on the data and analytics needs of wide ranging stakeholder groups.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Self-starter with the ability to develop a thorough understanding of client profitability concepts and processes
  • Ability to understand data concepts (sourcing, mapping, moving), as well as Business Intelligence concepts and practices.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert relative to client profitability processes and financial results
  • Performs impact analysis relative to the introduction of new business rules and/or changes to existing analytical dashboards and client financials.
  • Translates business requirements into technical specifications, and works with technical teams to design, test and implement changes to the client profitability application.
  • Ability to pro-actively manage interests of multiple stakeholders with diverse needs, perspectives and priorities.
  • Develop, document and obtain sign-off on business requirements and work products.
  • Can effectively communicate business rule changes to various stakeholders, including end-users.
  • Research and resolve complex business/financial issues, including applying corrective steps to existing business rules.
  • Performs data and process validation during testing phases of projects and ongoing work efforts.
  • Research and analyze data issues to ensure that stakeholder requirements are satisfied.
  • Works to continuously improve production validation and other processes (balance and controls).
  • Participate simultaneously on multiple work efforts and high priority activities.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of the client profitability dashboards and metrics.

    Required Qualifications/Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Finance, Information Technology, Accounting or Related Field).
  • 5+ years of analytical experience in Finance, Line of Business or related field preferred.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen.
  • Database querying and data transformation expertise (i.e., SQL, Excel, Access).
  • Experience dealing with complex and large data sets from multiple sources to support analytical processes.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Interest, willingness and ability to assimilate information quickly and succinctly.
  • Action oriented; takes initiative to challenge current processes, provide alternatives and implement change.
  • Organized self-starter with the ability to think and work independently and creatively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to work and communicate with personnel at all levels in the Corporation.
  • Ability to understand and interpret stakeholder requests/needs, and logically present potential solutions.
  • Proven team player, strong leadership skills and an ability to work within a highly collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in using analytical tools (e.g., SQL), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of KeyBank reporting and source systems (KEIS, KART, originations, deposits, pricing model).
  • Knowledge of Key’s data supply chain
  • Experience with analytical tools (SAS)
  • Familiarity with Oracle OFSAA platform a plus
  • Experience working with financial system reporting environments (i.e., IBM TM1, Essbase, Oracle, QRM, etc.).
  • Familiarity and/or hands-on experience with B.I. tools (OBIEE, Cognos, Tableau, QRM Management Repository)
  • Understanding of data mining concepts and ETL tools a plus (e.g., SSIS).
  • Previous experience as a Systems Administrator and/or Sr. Business Analyst.
