Job Description

Responsible for underwriting mid/large ticket transactions for Corporate Credit – primarily for deals sourced through our vendor partners in Information Technology in accordance with KeyCorp and KEF Credit Policies and Procedures.

Essential Job Functions
Assist Credit Manager in managing substantial transaction volume from various sources by utilizing other credit personnel and yourself to ensure timely transaction processing /analysis

Review and decision credit requests within prescribed limits and, for exposure levels exceeding authority limits, present requests to appropriate authorities within KEF

Work closely with Sales and Vendors to ensure accurate and timely decisions

Underwrite complex transactions, suggest structuring enhancements, and ensure that risk ratings are accurately assigned in accordance with KEF and KeyCorp policies

Support ongoing strong asset quality within various business segments of the KEF portfolio with underwriting that aligns with KeyCorp’s “moderate” risk tolerance appetite

Determine appropriate documentation requirements based on the type of transaction and participate in basic documentation negotiations

Coordinate with KeyCorp affiliates for credit underwriting as necessary, on shared relationships

Ensure clear open communication and information flow related to required information and final transaction decisions to and between team members and other appropriate parties

Provide the highest quality of service to every customer consistent with KEF values of teamwork, respect, accountability, integrity and leadership

Cross train and provide back up support to other credit verticals such as Healthcare, Specialty Vehicle or small ticket as necessary

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics

Commercial credit underwriting experience with middle & large ticket transactions

Financial statement spreading and analysis, with Moody’s Risk Analyst experience being a 'plus'

Ability to multi-task and manage many responsibilities

Ability to manage a wide variety of customer transactions and to support and justify credit recommendations

Competent in various computer software programs, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

Strong oral & written communication skills

Decisive and experienced in exercising credit authority with strong leadership skills
