Job Brief:

Own the development, implementation, assessment and support of one or more components of an environment, application or platform.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing Workday System and Security administration.
  • Responsible for developing, managing and supporting integrations with internal and external applications.
  • Responsible for independently developing clean, maintainable, testable code for work assigned; performs peer code reviews.
  • Participates in the overall health, performance, and availability and actively works resolution of system and client experience impacts for one or more environments, applications, or platforms.
  • Ability to do system configuration to maintain and increase efficiency of the Workday System
  • Ability to bring multiple parties together to address and communicate production issues within the agreed SLAs
  • Ability to manage multiple system releases, do impact analysis on new releases, perform testing and release management.
  • Embraces mentorship and training from senior engineers
  • Provides continuous improvement ideas to reduce expenses and/or improve efficiency.
  • Applies recommended information security standards when developing code and seeks to validate
  • Assesses the technical viability of new and emerging products and technologies
  • Completes appropriate System Documentation clearly and effectively and communicates to multiple groups.
  • Coordinates the correction of defects found in all testing cycles and assists other team members in completing
  • Communicates when development tasks could be at risk and works with the Project Manager to mitigate the risks
  • Has a good understanding of supported business functions.
  • Identifies potential standards and best practices.
  • Can speak to dependencies and constraints with other business areas

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or at least 6 years of experience in application development related processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with others, and independently.
  • Broad-based development skills with depth of development skills in a single discipline.
  • Exceptional quality and drives for quality and vision.
  • Sees and evaluates alternatives.
  • Understands how potential ideas can play out in marketplace.
  • Expert in a single database architecture with proficiency across multiple database architectures.
  • Working Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
  • Working Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
  • Working Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Working Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
  • Working Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
  • Working Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
  • Working Knowledge of software reliability management; ability to develop and use principles, methodologies and metrics that increase software product performance and reliability.
  • Working Knowledge of production applications; ability to monitor application functions and resolve issues to maintain optimal conditions for system applications.
