About the Job
Mortgage Banker works with Key’s Private and Community Bank Relationship Managers to drive permanent loan production to all executions within the Mortgage Banking Group. Actively educating Private and Community Bankers on Key Capital Markets executions. Actively manages loan flow from Private and Community Bank clients through the permanent product executions.

Essential Job Functions
Responsible for the initial and on-going training of the client management sales force (Private & Community Bank RMs) on all elements of permanent debt products available from the Capital Markets Group.
Actively participate in the creation and implementation of client relationships to include exit strategies and client interaction.
Active engagement with the bankers in anticipating loan maturities and positioning to move balance sheet loans to permanent financing.
Active and visible representation of KeyBank in the marketplace to include industry functions, trade groups and direct meetings with the brokerage community.
Utilize a consultative sales process where commercial real estate financing solutions are tailored to the needs of the client. Active participation in helping KeyBank meet the goals of both the on balance sheet Private/Community Bank efforts as well as the off balance sheet efforts.
Keep the Community Bank RM’s fully apprised of permanent loan pricing, new product development, changing market conditions and anticipated trends in the industry.
Direct calling effort with the RM’s on borrower clients for permanent loan executions.
Manage the process and take responsibility for the pre-screening, modeling and creation of loan submissions to all permanent executions.
Assist the underwriting staff as needed to ensure timely execution of the underwriting process.
Work with the Underwriting/Closing department to insure a quality closing execution for the client.
Assist in the development of a detailed marketing plan aimed at growing Key’s market share and industry reputation within the Private & Community Bank.

Work closely with Key’s Relationship Managers to strengthen existing relationships through joint calling efforts and cross-selling permanent debt solutions.
Work to expand the existing client/prospect base beyond existing construction lending clientele to include owners, investors and other end users of permanent debt.

Required Qualifications
Experienced in Commercial Real Estate Lending
College Degree
5+ Years of Banking/Lending experience
Experience within the permanent products marketplace
Extensive knowledge of all permanent products executions
Strong communication, marketing and negotiation skills
Strong leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications
Highly motivated with a production orientation and sense of urgency.
Team Player with ability to work well with production and support staff in a collaborative manner.
Comfortable with both public speaking and presentations to clients.
Willing to travel as needed to meet with KeyBank personnel, borrowers and lenders/investors.
Courteous and professional attitude with internal and external clients.
Willing to provide constructive suggestions relative to growing the business.
Willing to take ownership of the product with responsibility for production.
