About the Job:
Oracle Banking Platform (OBP) currently provides customer and account data; integration to backend systems; and fund transfer services to the Digital (Online Banking) and Physical (Call Center/Quest) channels.
The Oracle Banking Platform 2.3 development team is responsible for delivering product enhancements and new capabilities as requested from the Community Bank lines of business and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Technical Management Manager, the candidate will be responsible for guiding a team of developers to building and delivering high quality software. They will work closely with the architecture team during design phases, and will also be instrumental in the development and maintenance of the software governance frameworks. This role will require a high level of skill in hands-on coding, as well as the ability to lead and mentor a team of developers with varying skill levels.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Develop clean, maintainable, testable, java code.
  • Embrace the established standards and best practices that currently exist for java applications, and contribute ideas in these areas to keep our technology moving forward
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively and efficiently with other developers on the team to achieve the highest quality code & product
  • Report status and work progress to project manager and technical lead as requested
  • Create technical documentation as required in the form of UML diagrams, technical specifications, and project artifacts
  • Assist/Mentor other developers on the team in software development best practices
  • Provide technical leadership in planning/estimating, design, development, test and implementation activities.
  • Collaborate and work with Architecture, Infrastructure, and interfacing teams
  • Implement interfaces to backend banking platforms through middleware/SOA solutions.
  • Work with Oracle to leverage core product features, and recommend product changes or customizations as appropriate.
  • Ensure security standards are applied
  • Lead code & release management activities
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Information Science or Information Systems Management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in Java/JEE based applications and development
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a lead development role.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environment, utilizing automated testing, as well as Test Driven Development
  • Experience working on teams that have employed agile and lean methodologies.
  • Experience with J2E application servers -- (Weblogic preferred; Websphere/Tomcat)
  • Experience with Database development, SQL, Database Tools (SQLDeveloper), Stored Procs, and Java ORM tools (Hibernate)
  • In depth experience developing enterprise level web services -- JAX-WS, JAX-RS, SOAPUI, WSDL, XML, XSD schema, WebMethods, Datapower, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Web Service Security (authentication & authorization) using SAML and application roles
  • Experience with messaging technologies (JMS, IBM-MQ)
  • Experience with Source Control (SVN), Continuous Integration/Delivery and Automated Testing (Jenkins, Junit, etc.)
  • Experience with working with command line tools and scripting
  • Experience with software development methodologies (Waterfall and Agile/Scrum)
  • Experience working with mainframe & banking software systems desired but not required.
  • Thorough understanding of the SDLC
  • Working knowledge of LDAP Directories
  • Basic knowledge of ETL technologies (Ab Initio)
  • Project experience within the Banking/Financial Industry domain
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills at both the technical and executive level
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision – self starter
