Job Description

Job Brief:
This position is responsible for closing new deals, amendments, modifications, and extensions as assigned from work queue. Independently manage all pre-closing requirements, analytical review of due diligence including adhering to internal compliance procedures, credit approval, risk management and documentation standards according to internal closing procedures and controls. Responsible for providing superior client service in proactively driving the closing process, collaborating with line of business, internal and external legal partners, coordinating loan document generation in LaserPro, and following progress on the closing process, identifying items/conditions to be satisfied and the party responsible, through funding and all post-closing functions, and participate and or lead special project as needed.

*Position will be filled as a Closing Officer or Sr. Closing Officer based on selected candidates experience.
*Position can be located anywhere.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provides closing expertise to Sales in pre-closing process through analytical review of items required to close, review of term sheet/credit approval and assistance with preparation and review of commitment letter, if applicable, and review of loan documentation
  • Communicate and interact with Client, RM, (other internal lob partners) to facilitate and drive loan closing
  • Collect and review copy of approval, applicable credit documents, organizational documents, loan documents, and any other due diligence loan closing documents
  • Drives closing process with client, utilizing closing tools to identify and monitor progress of items required to close and responsible parties for such
  • Ensures ongoing communication with LOB, Servicing Team and all other necessary parties during pre-closing and closing process
  • Engages/coordinates outside consultants necessary for the transaction including legal counsel
  • Accumulates and reviews all applicable loan documentation and other information for conformity to credit policy, credit approval, and commitment letter; analyzes, reviews and negotiates client-requested changes with counsel and/or Sales as appropriate
  • Reviews and analyzes, with supervisor oversight, Borrower provided insurance with insurance standards
  • Works with Commercial Real Estate Loan Closing team on real estate secured loans when applicable
  • Ensures ongoing communication with client, Sales, legal counsel, title agent, consultants, document preparation specialist and all other necessary parties during pre-closing and closing process
  • Delivers distinctive personalized service to external and internal clients; participates in client meetings
  • Oversee and ensure initial funding requirements and requests are met
  • Ensures that transactions are Quality Verified, and executed documentation is sent to appropriate parties
  • Adherence to timeframes for all required training
  • Support a continuous improvement mindset around process improvement
  • Utilizes nCino and KVD as appropriate for transaction tracking
  • Ensures all pre-closing conditions of approval are met
  • Provides appropriate authorization to close; works closely with multiple parties to achieve a well-coordinated and timely closing, funding and booking of the transaction
  • Identifies all fees and charges necessary to close transaction
  • Clearly and immediately communicates problems/issues and elevates appropriately; assists in resolving issues affecting client service and risk management
  • Adheres to timeframes for all required training
  • Leads special projects
  • Mentors Closing Officers

Required Qualifications:
  • 4-year College Degree or equivalent commercial loan experience
  • Experience in agribusiness loan documentation.
  • Strong solution-oriented and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability
  • Strong aptitude for analysis, systems and mathematics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high-volume environment
  • PC proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word, PowerPoint and OneNote
  • Familiarity with commercial banking systems preferred
