Job Description

The Senior Employee Benefits Manager is responsible for development of Key’s long-term benefits strategy as well as the execution and communication of these programs to enhance Key’s ability to attract and retain the employees we need to serve our customers. This role reports to the Director of Compensation and Benefits and leads a team of seasoned professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing the long-term strategy and establishing future direction of Key’s benefit programs.
  • Regularly analyzing benefits programs in consideration of financial and vendor performance, market position and trends, regulatory compliance, governance and benefits philosophy to enhance the value or increase effectiveness of these programs, manage risk and inform future design.
  • Working closely with partners, including third-parties, to establish expectations and provide oversight over delivery, implementation and communication of benefits programs.
  • Regularly interacting with senior Human Resources and business leaders to articulate strategy and philosophy.
  • Overseeing and developing staff, delegating assignments and managing workflow.
  • Performing other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a strategic, consultative approach to problem-solving and be widely regarded for success in building relationships as a trusted advisor with a demanding client base. This individual will be an action-oriented, mission-driven, strategic thinker and outstanding communicator with the intellectual curiosity, conceptual skills and confidence to create effective partnerships with senior leaders, and human resources partners and to retain these relationships over the long term. The successful candidate will be a proactive, dynamic, incisive and insightful executive who possesses the following:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in human resources with a strong preference for specific experience leading a benefits organization
  • Leadership Skills – Strong team-oriented leadership skills and executive presence who is able to frame and confront complex issues. Self-directed with strong initiative. Supervision received typically consists of periodic coaching and feedback.
  • Critical Thinking – Work involves many complex variables including significant time spent planning, evaluating complex solutions and issues and negotiating outcomes with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analysis to Insights – Strong analytic ability required to devise new approaches to situations using a combination of data, market insights and observations. Strong quantitative and business analysis skills. Experience with process improvement approaches.
  • General Business Acumen – A broad background with an ability to fit together human resources, financial, systems, regulatory and operational management issues. Understands complex business issues and strategies. Possesses a hands-on, goal and results-oriented attitude and a reputation for driving large-scale projects through delivery and implementation.
  • Relationship Building Skills – Strong communications strategy and messaging skills with the ability to build exceptional, long-term partnerships with internal staff at all levels. Ability to translate technical material into common terms that are meaningful to the participants of our plans.
  • Values and Vision – Consistently models organizational values of teamwork, respect, accountability, integrity and leadership.
  • Influencing Skills – Ability to quickly establish trust, rapport and value inside and outside the organization. Good selling skills to market ideas and influence indirectly. Team-oriented planner and decision-maker. Able to creatively drive consensus.
