Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

Measure, report and analyze credit, financial, and business risks and opportunities related to the first mortgage portfolios
Perform routine and ad hoc analytics to meet internal and external requirements for portfolio monitoring management
Evaluate production flow, portfolio credit profiles, performance and default attributes to understand potential credit loss trends, emerging exposures and related impacts to balance sheet, loan pricing, and potential loan sale execution
Chair portfolio management forums for formal feedback loops with Sales, Fulfillment, Underwriting and Default Servicing functional leaders to understand root causes for performance weaknesses and take corrective actions
Work in collaboration with Vendor and Servicing Management to effectively manage defaulted loan assets. Identify opportunities to reduce risks related to defaulted loans via asset sales or use of component servicers.
Develop and monitor meaningful portfolio concentration limits and triggers
Work with Default Management to define strategies and tactics to drive proactive, targeted activities to minimize credit losses
Collaborate with Credit Risk partners to explore risk theses, perform targeted assessments, and produce recommendations for action when needed
Work with Finance and Risk partners to model portfolio performance under stress scenarios, evaluate results, and make recommendations for changes as needed
Own the monthly Mortgage Asset Quality Reporting package covering direct and sub-serviced portfolios. Such report should include key performance indicators such as geographic dispersion, investors, products, prime/sub-prime, delinquencies, foreclosures, bankruptcies, loss experience, advances and expenses, etc. and benchmark such data against industry metrics.
Create and Maintain Portfolio Management Standards, Policies, and Procedures.
Assist Vendor Management in monitoring of servicer performance, provide direction for improvements as needed
Special Projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:


Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Computer Science required, Graduate MBA degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of related experience in portfolio management, preferably with real estate secured assets; knowledge of OCC portfolio management guidelines for Mortgage products & ability to apply to portfolios
Minimum 10 years of relevant Mortgage and Credit Risk experience
Financial Analysis experience with complex portfolios preferred
Strong analytical, math, communication, problem solving and influencing skills
Ability to conduct research and resolve issues
Ability to learn and use proprietary databases and systems
Ability to interface with Executives and internal and external partners
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
SAS or equivalent analytic tool experience
