Job Description

This role is responsible for the oversight and management of the day to day activities of the Governance team within Key’s Model Risk group, and reports directly to the Director of Model Risk Governance. This includes management of the enterprise model inventory and Model Risk applications of the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) system, to include system updates and enhancements. Person is responsible to assist in the preparation of Model Risk reporting for various committees and the Board of Directors. This person oversees the daily functions of Model Risk SMEs and Reporting Analysts, to include monitoring of progress and completion of tasks. Individual is responsible for the completion and management of the annual Validation/Periodic Review Schedule and associated reporting. Role includes strong partnering with Validation team members and Model Owners and Users on the First Line of Defense.


  • Provides oversight and management of the governance and reporting functions of the Model Risk group under the direction of the Director of Model Risk Governance. This includes oversight and management of Model Risk SMEs and Reporting Analysts
  • Monitors, tracks and assists with the preparation and coordination of the enterprise’s model validation and periodic review schedule
  • Oversees/Produces the generation of and analyzes internal reporting to monitor and track the integrity of the Model Risk functions, GRC workflows and consistency of process
  • Oversees/Produces and analyzes internal Model Risk Governance reporting that monitors the progression, comprehensiveness and accuracy of the enterprise’s Model Inventory and other Model Risk system modules, to include Model Risk analytics
  • Manages the schedule for the timely production of all Model Risk reporting; and assists Model Risk management with the preparation of Committee and Board reporting
  • Ensures the timely maintaining/updating of Model Risk’s policies and procedures to ensure completeness and accuracy; assists with updating applicable documents
  • Oversees and Assists with model risk/model risk management training initiatives for both Model Risk and the enterprise/LOB’s
  • Point of Contact from Model Risk for Technology; completes and Model Risk aspects of the annual Technology Roadmap; responsible for GRC updating and efficiency
  • Works with Model Risk Governance SMEs for periodic reporting
  • Keeps abreast of industry best practice standards for model risk
  • Other projects/tasks as assigned by the Director of Model Risk Governance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
  • 2+ years of experience in model or related risk management/governance, audit, project management or equivalent experience, strongly focused on process design, development, risks and controls
  • Working knowledge of GRC and Tableau
  • Good interpersonal skill/ knows how to work across silos
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office with advanced experience in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills are required to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Non-mandatory requirements but considered to be an asset if had:
    • Previous supervisory or managerial experience not mandatory, but considered an asset
    • Working knowledge of Python, SAS, and/or SQL
    • Background or experience in Technology
