Essential Job Functions

The Consumer Modeling & Analytics, Origination Management Team within the Risk, Modeling and Analytics department of Finance at KeyBank is looking for a Quantitative Modeling Analyst gather, summarize, and analyze data to derive robust credit origination/underwriting strategies that mitigate risk, increase revenue and profitability, and enhance client experience for KeyBank consumer credit and credit card portfolios. The successful candidate will be able perform ad-hoc data analytics and build robust reporting that monitors strategy performance and provides robust business insight for continuous improvement. This position will also include analytical support for strategy implementation including programming, configuration, and testing support for implementation into Risk Decision Platforms and related components.

This individual will also act as the trusted advisor working with Risk Underwriting & Product Partners to develop, and implement Continuous Improvement of Strategies and Criteria.

Marginal job functions for this individual would include support for development and implementation of credit risk characteristics; and providing business requirements and business case justification for new risk decisioning initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services industry, background in consumer credit risk management and originations/underwriting
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Preferred) in statistics, mathematics, economics, or related quantitative field
  • Excellent data analysis skills and proficiency with various modeling, variable selection, and decision tree techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge of champion/challenger decisioning methods, sampling, statistical hypothesis testing, and regression analysis
  • Excellent Decision Making and Problem Solving skills with proven results
  • Superior Project Management Skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills, ability to work in team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent PC/Application/Mainframe skills (UNIX/LINUX Experience is a plus)
  • Familiarity with data analysis software (SAS, SAS EM, SAS EG, R)
  • Knowledge of Distributed Applications and XML Data
  • Familiarity with technology project life cycle and implementation
  • Ability to evaluate and process data that generates actionable results
  • Accomplished self-starter with excellent organization skills
