JOB BRIEF

The QC Analyst will be responsible for revieweing inestigation quality and/or Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) filed by KeyBank to ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, regulatory expectations, and internal policies / procedures. The QC Analyst will conduct daily reviews of departmental work to ensure investigation staff members are completing detailed examinations of transactional activity while also mananging their own caseload in order to ensure SLA deadlines are met. A critical component of the job is to ensure the investigative units within KeyBank are making appropriate risk decisions including the decision to file a SAR or not file a SAR. The QC Analyst will assist management in achieving the overall QC and investigation objectives according to federal regulations and department procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Review work performed by AML / Fraud Investigators to ensure it meets internal quality guidelines.
  • Provide constructive feedback to Investigators regarding case quality and adherence to departmental guidelines.
  • Ensure quality of effectiveness, teamwork, narrative, and thoroughness of case review.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of company operations, organizational procedures, and federal/state regulations.
  • Maintain understanding of industry trends related to AML, terrorist financing and financial fraud.
  • Manage daily caseload / QC Hotlist to ensure SLAs are being achieved.
  • Work with management to develop and deliver training programs and process changes to QC staff and ESS employees.
  • Manage caseload in an efficient manner in order to maximize departmental production capability.
  • Manage caseload in an effective manner to maximize the quality of case reviews.
  • Assist team members in allocating/redistribuitng work while coordinating/maintaining effective caseloads and workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Promote the department’s goals and strategies throughout the company.
  • Effectively manage risks and rewards:
    • Adhere to internal policies, laws and regulations and complete risk training by defined due dates.
    • Identify and know the risks specific to your role, consistently adhere to defined procedures/controls mitigating these risks within appropriate timeframes.
    • Identify and escalate risks and issues in a timely manner and prior to risk management, risk review, or third party identification.
    • Complete any identified issues/ findings and risk corrective action plans within defined timeframes.
  • Provide strategic and ongoing feedback to investigators.

MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in groups and/or committees for the purpose of reviewing and improving policies, procedures, and processes affecting our department or our business partners.
  • Work with management to develop and deliver training programs and process changes to QC staff and ESS employees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. Two plus years of of investigative / QC experience with a bank. Working knowledge of all relevant Bank and AML computer systems and applications. Proven knowledge of federal regulations related to job functions. Proven ability to manage multiple diverse tasks simultaneously. Proven ability to analyze and solve problems; ability to work effectively and independently. Ability to identify key risks and issues. Ability to respond to questions regarding anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud detection and prevention. Proven ability to identify potential financial and regulation risks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

College degree in business, law enforcement, criminology or other related field. Professional certification such as Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Financial Services Security Professional (CFSSP).
