ABOUT THE JOB
Operational Risk Analyst for Operational Risk Event Collections will assist with the administration and operation of the operational event data collection process and related databases. The person will maintain hierarchies, category frameworks, operational risk taxonomies, and other information required for reporting. In addition, the person will conduct quality reviews of the loss data and provide guidance for Event Collection System reporters. The candidate will also be responsible for reviewing and providing data for operational risk management and modeling, as well as consortium and some regulatory reporting, while providing support for external operational event review and analysis.
The candidate will provide research and analytical support to a team of risk professionals supporting Key’s Operational Risk Program. The person will assist with surveillance and analysis of risk data, and leading risk projects as assigned. Activities would consist of daily review of systems, reports, identification of exceptions and research and follow up on those exceptions in a timely manner (including escalation, where appropriate). Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing customized reports to assess loss trends and improvement opportunities. The candidate will work independently and use good judgment escalating issues when appropriate. This position will provide support on an "as needed" basis for ad hoc projects as they may develop. The person will assist with the review of information for loss tolerance reporting. The person will conduct research on current and emerging requirements related to regulations, laws, and rules affecting losses within Line of Businesses within Key. Candidate must establish effective business relationships, displaying an ability to interact and promote a good day-to-day rapport with 1

nd and 3
rd Line of Defense Stakeholders throughout the organization. Candidate must exhibit initiative and be able to identify needed enhancements to current process flows and help to implement change.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the system maintenance of Event Collection System (ECS) which includes maintaining system access and framework elements, uploading files, creation of output files and reports, and document maintenance.
- Assist in gathering and analysis of loss data for significant ORM projects (i.e. Product Delivery and Change Management)
- Manage the data collection process and maintain standards and procedures established by the Basel II Advanced Measurement Approach (AMA) requirements. Continue to identify and enhance sources of and processes to collect operational loss events, operational exposures and credit boundary events.
- Assist in working with data providers including Fraud, Legal, Insurance and Workers Compensation as well as business reviewers for events originated by other areas to ensure data quality and provide guidance and training for the collection process and ECS.
- Maintain various organizational and financial hierarchies, as well as taxonomy and various category frameworks such as risk type, product, process and cause, for reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of reports using operational loss event data including quarterly Operational Risk Committee (ORC) report, monthly data extracts for the GRC system, quarterly extract to the data consortium, and select regulatory reporting, data extracts for capital modeling and stress testing, and developing new reports.
- Enhance the use of external event information from public databases and consortiums to better understand trends and emerging issues for use in internal reporting.
- Work with technology support staff for timely updates and maintenance to the ECS utilities used to process and report loss data including general ledger and hierarchy processing, and event creation and reporting utilities
- Identify, monitor, and resolve exceptions related to applicable Operational Risk Systems (e.g., Event Collection, Governance Risk Compliance (GRC), etc.).
- Manages Event Collection Subject Matter Expert recorder activities.
- Escalates promptly to appropriate operational risk team member, senior management (LOB and/or Operational Risk) any material breaches of tolerances, appetite, standards
- Effectively and professionally interact with senior management, internal risk review personnel as well as other Operational risk peers;
- Maintain the Operational Risk Event Collections KeyNet Homepage, and K-Drive.
- Assist with internal and external audit, examination, regulatory inquiry and investigation requests for information. Also, assist in the evaluation of audit and examination findings, implementation of corrective action and needed responses;
- Assist with other asks as required to ensure team objectives are achieved, even where outside usual area of responsibility.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered)
- 1-2 years of compliance, operational risk, data analytics, or industry-related experience (i.e. Understanding of bank processes, organizational structure and financial systems)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and the proven ability to learn how to use other unique technologies
- Candidate must possess the wherewithal and flexibility to undertake new functions/tasks as the Operational Risk and line of business evolves and grows
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Sound decision-making skills; able to make decisions independently
- Solid written and communication skills
- Strong research skills coupled with strong problem solving/analytical skills and ability to effectively summarize findings
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
