Job Description


The Senior Product Manager reports to the Sr. Manager, Head of Deposit Product and Pricing Strategy and is accountable for the strategic management of Key’s MMDA and Savings portfolios in addition to new product development. This role will have responsibilities across Key’s Retail, Small Business, Business Banking and Private Banking portfolios with total balances of approximately $25B. As a key contributor on the team, this individual will also assist other Product and Pricing Managers and Analysts with planning, development and implementation of enhancements that add-value for current Clients and accelerate progress towards Key’s strategic objectives.


  • Lead portfolio management for existing MMDA and Savings portfolios, including acquisition, deepening and retention efforts in alignment with segment strategies and customer needs.
  • Drive new product development – create a strategic vision for the “Savings” (both liquid and term) portfolios, aligned with Key’s objective of improving Clients’ financial wellness.
  • Partner with the Key’s Sr. Pricing Manager to develop rate-based strategies to accelerate acquisition and improve retention.
  • Develop a robust, compelling reason for Clients and Prospects to “Save with KeyBank”.
  • Assess the competitive / industry landscape, industry portfolio trends
  • Manage profitability drivers of products to ensure they meet profitability hurdles.
  • Drive the technology requirements for existing and new strategic objectives objectives.
  • Lead cross functional teams – Client Experience, Operations, Technology, Legal and Compliance – to ensure timely delivery of product management projects.
  • Ensure strict adherence with product policies and guidelines to ensure all legal, compliance and audit standards are met.
  • Prepare business reviews to highlight findings and recommendations to senior management.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • May serve as a Project Manager on Consumer product-related projects across various channels (Online, Branch, Call Center, etc.)


  • 5 to 10 years of experience managing product strategy and development in banking/ financial services
  • Direct product P/L responsibility.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once and prioritize delivery based on key objectives.
  • Understanding of Retail Banking deposit products and segment needs through demonstrated portfolio management experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a business related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
  • Financial and analytical thinking and the ability to forecast
  • Working knowledge of PC (MS Windows and Office Products including Word, Excel, etc).


    Problem-Solving: Solution-focused; though partner to Client and Product team; proactively identifies opportunities; surfaces issues and independently proposes and implements solutions.
