About the Job
Market Risk performs oversight of the Fixed Income, Equities, Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate and Commodity Derivatives trading activity throughout the bank and broker-dealer. The individual in this role will perform a broad range of quantitative and qualitative analysis to support the Market Risk function and will interface with Traders (risk takers), Technology, Senior Managers, Compliance, Model Risk and Accounting to manage risk against applicable policies and limits.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze and control daily risk metrics produced on trading activities including Fixed Income, Interest Rates Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives and Foreign Exchange.
  • Work with senior market risk professionals on monitoring market risk limits and making quantitative and qualitative assessments of activity risk profiles and markets.
  • Enhance consolidated data reporting by tracking and reviewing position changes, Profit & Loss monitoring, VaR back-testing.
  • Develop tactical reports to help analyze market risk exposure.
  • Work directly with trading desks on developing analyses of portfolio and risk dynamics.
  • Guide and manage Market Risk’s participation in both large and small projects.
  • Perform Model Validations among various Trading, Middle Office and Risk Management systems.
  • Maintain =documentation of models, processes and procedures according to Key’s corporate standards.
  • Understand the conceptual framework and assumptions of the models and assess model performance.
  • Support Market Risk policies and processes.
  • Coordinate with other groups including Information Technology to define specifications and production roll-outs for the Risk and Middle Office systems.
  • Work on interdisciplinary teams on corporate and departmental priority projects.
  • Interface with Technology, vendors, and project teams to advance Market Risk’s development and implementation objectives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong preference for a Master's degree in finance, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative field.
  • Advanced knowledge of finance including valuation methodologies, understanding of capital markets, financial instrument modeling, Value at Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office with advanced experience in Excel and VBA.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated numeracy.
  • Keen interest in capital markets and understanding of Risk Culture and framework.
  • Ability to lead meetings and present information to executives at any level of the organization.
