Job Description

Market Risk performs oversight of the Fixed Income, Equities, Foreign Exchange, and Interest Rate and Commodity Derivatives Trading activity. The individual in this role will run and analyze counterparty credit risk reports, monitor credit limits, prepare monthly and quarterly submissions, and help maintain the framework that is used to monitor Key’s exposure to its trading partners.

Under direct supervision, the Data & Business Intelligence Associate is primarily responsible for supporting the sourcing, manipulation, preparation, and validation of data for consumption – which may be in the form of production reports or as analytical data sets to answer questions or to perform predictive analysis. The Data & Business Intelligence Associate uses basic querying and data mining to assist the team’s report production and analysis to provide answers to descriptive questions such as “How do I measure?” and “What happened?”. Through basic reoccurring reporting and ad hoc requests such as pulling data and routine analysis, the Data and Business Intelligence Associate will build basic reports and provide technical assistance to the working team. Success criteria include: timely and effective handling of requests assigned by manager under general supervision; providing input into basic analytical challenges faced by the team; developing communication skills, business acumen, and critical thinking; and establishing relationships with peers and broader team.
  • Pull basic data via simple queries and prepare data to support the production of reports owned by the group
  • Provide reoccurring reporting and ad hoc requests such as simple analysis and documentation
  • Develop basic visualization and PowerPoint presentations
  • Provide input with addressing basic analytical problems and challenges
  • Analyze daily reports and identify and escalate any issues
  • Maintain the framework used to monitor Key’s counterparty credit risk, adding new trading partners and making changes as needed
  • Prepare documents for monthly and quarterly submission to finance and accounting, and to regulators
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred OR 1 year of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Data visualization
  • Beginner-intermediate programming skill
  • Basic project management skill
  • Communication: Developing written and verbal skills; beginning to develop ability to organize information in clear, consistent format; Capacity to develop ability to articulate a clear, well-thought out message and formal delivery; Minimal skills in creating PowerPoint presentations
  • Leadership: Able to work independently under general direction / supervision.
  • Organization: Ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Partnering / Influencing: work typically assigned by manager; limited business partner interaction; Developing ability to build relationships, partner, and influence
  • Business Acumen: Developing basic understanding of business partner strategy; Building financial acumen
  • Critical Thinking / Problem Solving: Developing critical thinking skills; Can analyze simple issues with low complexity; Can give perspective to the team addressing basic business/analytical problems and challenges; Recognizes need to escalate issues in a timely manner
