Job Description

The Trust Pre-Settlement and Settlement teams are responsible for the accurate and timely settlement of equity, fixed income, repo, options, swaps and futures trades, both US and global, for accounts on the Global Plus system. The team is responsible for pre-settlement processes of trades executed by third party investment managers. For the Securities Lending process, the Operations Group receives trade information generated from tables in the Global Data Store supporting Global Plus and WorldLend.

Responsibilities:


• Support the domestic and international custody accounts for KPB line of business that are managed by third party investment managers:


• Serving as primary settlement support and building working relationships with third party managers for domestic and international securities.


• Resolving trade exceptions by coordination with investment managers and/or brokers.


• Working with investment managers, brokers and internal teams to resolve failed trades on a timely basis.


• Researching and resolving exceptions, including depository position exceptions.


• Support DTC/FED Settlement:


• Deliver out sales of securities through the Depository Trust Company or the Federal Reserve according to industry and department deadlines.


• Settle purchases of securities through the Depository Trust Company or the Federal Reserve according to industry and department deadlines.


• Resolve settlement problems and issues through analysis and collaboration with both internal and external parties.


• Balance trade settlement activity through DTC/FED according to department deadlines.


• Perform the net settlement process with DTC according to department and industry deadlines.


• Support our LOB Securities Lending partners.


• Back-up for non-custody Huntington security lending movement.


• Back-up for the State of Ohio, process the Deutsche 3rd party agent activity.


• Back-up for the Corporate Securities Lending desk


• Actively work to streamline processes to improve efficiency.


• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of work performed.


• Provide a high level of service to both internal and external parties.


• Be an integral part of the coverage plan for all functions in the department.


• Participate in other continuous improvement projects.

Preferred Skills:


• Four year degree in business OR equivalent work experience in the financial services industry.


• Prior experience in securities industry. Experience in trade settlement, domestic / international securities and/or FX a plus.


• Operational banking experience.
