ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

The Home Lending trainer role will travel one to two weeks per month to locations within the KeyBank Home Lending footprint to conduct new hire training and/or ongoing training programs. This role is primarily responsible for the successful onboarding of a new hire, including facilitation of new hire and ongoing training programs. This candidate is will work closely with Learning & Development peers and management to collaborate on training content, curriculum discussions and provide recommendations for associate skill development. Additional responsibilities include creating and updating training content or materials as applicable.

A successful candidate in this role will have knowledge of the mortgage loan process and associated documentation requirements with a strong understanding of guidelines and regulations associated with residential lending. A working knowledge of Key Bank’s internal systems such as the firm’s Home Lending origination platforms, inclusive of both first mortgages and home equity products is preferred. This position will be expected to motivate, problem solve, counsel or influence others and requires someone that can work independently with little oversight.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitate new hire & existing staff conducting in-person and/or virtual Instructor Led training, executing with a professional level of communication
  • Assist with the design, coordination and management of onboarding processes ensuring a consistent and thorough onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Recognize areas of opportunity to continuously improve the onboarding experience and identify skill gaps and training needs, working closely with management and business partners to implement change
  • Develop and update training content/materials, partnering with Key’s Learning and Development Team as applicable.
  • Collaborate regularly with Line of Business partners to ensure understanding of needs and adjust curriculum and/or provide reinforcement of training.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of and remain current and up-to-date on changes to KeyBank Home Lending policies, processes and Origination software system changes and updates. Maintain knowledge of industry compliance standard rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with little management oversight
  • Act as a subject matter resource for the Line of Business

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of mortgage related experience.
  • Ideal candidate must have at least 2 years’ experience delivering training and/or developing training content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidate must be able to travel to locations to conduct training within the KeyBank Home Lending footprint.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or related experience.
