KeyBank’s Enterprise Commercial Payments (ECP) team is keenly focused on providing payment services that help companies run their businesses better, more efficiently and more effectively. While most financial organizations focus primarily on only the activities directly related to payment execution, KeyBank aims to better the client experience by providing innovative solutions across the entire Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) lifecycle. Core to the delivery strategy for government-to-consumer and business-to-consumer payments is our Prepaid Cards product, which allows governments and corporate clients to make electronic payment disbursements while streamlining their operations and reducing expense.

ECP is seeking a Head of Product for our Prepaid Cards business. This leader will have full P/L responsibility and will own the strategic vision, value proposition creation, and product development roadmap. They will lead a high-impact team that is tasked with optimizing the profitability and long term growth of the Prepaid Cards business. The incumbent will have primary responsibility for managing the day to day operations and oversight of our processing vendor/partner, including operational readiness, onboarding, client services, building out governance routines, quality controls, reporting, and KPI’s. They will be responsible for product activities around compliance, and risk and controls, including network management. The incubant will also need to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels across the organization to identify opportunities, issues, and priorities, and build a cadence of frequent standardized communications across all constituents to track and promote the performance of the Prepaid business.


The Prepaid Cards Head role offers a unique entrepreneurial opportunity to apply a blend of people, project, and product management experience, along with Prepaid Cards and electronic payments industry expertise and leadership capabilities to lead to the growth of our Prepaid/B2C payments solutions.

Some of the performance expectations include:

  1. Build and manage a team of high performers to support the needs of our Prepaid Cards business
  2. Manage team goals, roles/responsibilities, and performance
  3. Set a vision for product differentiation to capture market share
  4. Ownership of the day to day processing relationship, including governance and 3rd party oversight
  5. Drive operational readiness and optimization improvements across the entire client lifecycle, including standardizing the Account Management function
  6. Ensure we are managing our processing partner effectively and unlocking the value of the partnership
  7. Partner closely with Sales and other stakeholders to drive new business and to complete market assessments/sizing for new product opportunities
  8. Proactively communicate. Build out a regular communication plan to drive your team’s narrative. Let the world know what you are working on, highlighting your progress and success and getting ahead of your challenges to bring in the support you need.
  9. Own the product risk and controls framework, and ensure compliance throughout the business
  10. Ensure we have appropriate documentation of SOP’s and policies
  11. Maintain great internal team reporting/tracking: Track and monitor service levels and overall quality with vendors, project statuses, capacity planning, etc
  12. Works with the ECP leadership and analytics teams to create effective management reporting, dashboards, and MBR’s
  13. Partner with Key Sales Managers and Solutions Consultants to develop sales tools and training materials
