Reporting to the Financial Wellness Science Leader, the Behavioral Scientist is accountable for formulating a deep understanding of customer behavior and then identifying strategies and tactics for influencing this behavior in ways that help clients begin and continue to engage with their financial well-being to improve their financial outcomes. Along with the Science Leader the Behavioral Scientist will be responsible for using robust and highly effective data and analytics to encourage clients to actively engage in wellness, generate tangible improvements in client outcomes and enable bankers to support clients. The Behavioral Scientist will also work closely with the Financial Wellness Product, Client and Employee Experience, and Strategy teams to ensure that their client insights, strategies and tactics are reflected in the way that we engage with customers. The Behavior Scientist will also work with external experts in the field to ensure the Key is leveraging the most useful insights that emerge. This person will also develop and publish Key thought capital on effective consumer financial management.

• Serve as KeyBank's internal expert on behavioral economics and applied behavioral psychology
• Leverage the insights, principles, and techniques from these disciplines to create strategies and tactics to effectively encourage KeyBank clients to adopt and remain engaged with our Financial Wellness program
• Combine behavioral science with KeyBank's broad range of consumer and experience data to develop hyper-targeted, deeply personalized, Wellness-centered experiences for our clients
• Partner closely with the Financial Wellness Product, E2E Client Experience, E2E Customer Experience, and Strategy teams to embed behavioral science into the core of our Financial Wellness program(s)
• Leverage relationships with experts in the field of behavioral science to ensure that Key remains close to emerging theories, ideas, and applications
• Develop a structured and rigorous test-and-learn capability to continually assess the performance of behavioral science principles and discover those that drive differential value
• Publish KeyBank reports, white-papers, and industry insights on Financial Wellness to support Key's brand positioning
• Acts as a thought leader, innovator and advisor and offer expertise on complex issues
• Maintain deep familiarity with emerging behavioral science and consumer financial management trend
• Identify organizational requirements to effectively apply client behavioral insights
• Develops techniques and methodologies to achieve business goals drawing upon broad functional expertise in behavioral science
• Considers the implications of and generates actionable insights related to business outcomes, customer needs and patterns of behaviors

• Lead and participate in promotional activities and presentations
• Conduct market research to better understand customer needs and satisfaction with our service
• Be a thought-leader and change agent with regard to improving internal processes and procedures over time

• Degree in Economics, Behavioral Psychology​, Masters degree required, PhD preferred
• 5+ years of analytical experience working with large data sets
• Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills. Knowledge of statistical analysis (regression, decision trees, experimental design) to solve real world problems
• Proven ability to set a vision and gain stakeholder approval
• Experience developing Financial or Technology partnerships
• Passion for leading and developing people, creating followership and advancing Key’s culture
• Passion for the customer experience and acting as a change agent

• Masters or PhD in Economics or Behavioral Science
• Experience/Familiarity with Digital Banking technology
• Familiarity with agile project methodologies and LEAN project methodologies
