About the Job:
  • With limited supervision and direction from management, evaluates complex existing systems, designs and develops automation for delivery of IT resources required to maintain and/or expand IT service levels.
  • Intermediate professional level role. Works on multiple products, activities, and projects as a project team member, and frequently as a project leader.
  • Works on complex tasks, projects, activities, or support issues that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and has expertise in several products/systems.
  • May coach junior technical staff.
  • 5+ years of IT experience.
Essential Job Function:
  • Under limited supervision defines, develops, and manages the delivery of orchestration and automation of existing manual processes.
  • Utilizes a wide variety of vendor and open source technologies, tools, and techniques, in conjunction with scripting and coding, to automate the delivery of IT infrastructure to IT consumers.
  • Develops automation tool expertise and coaches other IT teams on the use of the tools for the design, development, and delivery of automation to speed delivery of their IT infrastructure services.
  • Identifies manual and inefficient process improvements to reduce bottlenecks in the infrastructure technology delivery pipeline.
  • Project lead role on medium to large automation efforts.
  • Development and enforcement of technology and automation standards, develop white papers and deliver presentations to management.
  • Provide support for problems and issues with deployed automation

Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years minimum experience in IT.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux enterprise server administration experience
  • Experience with server configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Javascript, or Powershell
  • Experienced with agile development, testing, and deployment practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ServiceNow Orchestration or Cloud Management Platform architecture, development, or configuration.
  • Experience with server configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Javascript, or Powershell
  • Experience working in a large financial services enterprise IT operations environment.
  • Experience designing, configuring, testing, and deploying IT infrastructure systems using proven or emerging technologies, in a variety of technologies and environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in small teams making both themselves and the teams successful
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternate solutions.
  • 4 Year degree or equivalent experience.
