Job Description

Lead the development and execution of the Key’s strategy for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) actions and related disclosures. Development of this strategy will be based on productive relationships with business leaders, market leaders, risk management, CRA team and corporate responsibility officers across Key’s footprint. The strategy and tactics will reflect our response to market opportunities and challenges and competitive trends. Further the strategy will identify and build relationships with targeted COIs /partnerships that augment Key’s commitment to and brand in the communities we serve. The Corporate Responsibility and Community Relations Manager – ESG will serve as the senior leader and corporate responsibility contact with representatives from various disclosure organizations. Based on opportunities identified through disclosures, they will work with businesses to prioritize and implement changes to enhance our ESG performance and disclosure.
  • Develop Key’s strategy, policies and approach for ESG disclosures. Partner with sustainability analyst to prepare and validate annual GRI and CDP data submissions; Drive creation of annual Corporate Responsibility Report, Expand Key’s participation in additional disclosure frameworks (e.g. SASB, TCFD).
  • Establish ongoing performance reporting and monitoring of published ESG ratings and ranking. Productively partner with rating agencies to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Work with relevant partners to accelerate achievement of Key’s renewable energy sourcing and emissions reduction objectives
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of federal, state and local policies impacting sustainability. Understand and educate the organization on implications to Key’s businesses and ESG efforts. Establish productive partnership with Government Relations.
  • Evaluate opportunities for external recognition for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability practices
  • Advise management on opportunities to enhance ESG performance. Draft, socialize and implement internal policies and practices that strengthen Key’s position as a responsible corporate citizen by driving positive impact in the communities we serve.
  • Partner with lines of business and risk management to enhance documentation and management of risks related to ESG; understand Key’s product offering, and make recommendations on enhancements to better serve low- and moderate-income individuals and communities.
  • Build productive relationship with Investor Relations to support investor inquiries. Prepare executive leadership with relevant background information, trends, and information/perspectives on current issues.
  • Build national partnerships and connections to be leveraged at enterprise and local levels that support communities while driving positive financial impact for Key.
  • Develop/Maintain a contemporary understanding of community and economic development trends and sustainability trends with an eye toward where Key has an opportunity to drive internal value and external impact.
Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required. Knowledge of and experience with ESG disclosure frameworks and responses within financial services.
Experience: Seven or more years of related experience required in community and/or economic development.
