The Payments Advisor develops new business, manages relationships, and provides financial operations consulting for clients of the Enterprise Commercial Payments division (ECP). This position is dedicated to KeyBank’s commercial real estate vertical. In partnership with leading financial technology (FinTech) companies, KeyBank is bringing game-changing solutions to its clients alongside traditional payments products.
  • Provide strategic consultation on working capital management, cash flow structures, and process automation (i.e. accounts payable automation)
  • Proactively develop new business by partnering with KeyBank relationship managers, in addition to generating new relationships on your own
  • Using a consultative sales approach, conduct needs assessment to determine the unique pain points for each client
  • Develop recommendation and proposal based on the results of a needs assessment
  • Pitch proposed solutions to the client, with the support of Key’s solutions consulting team
  • Simply and logically explain complex technology solutions on a white board
  • Comfortably interact with C-level executives of large real estate clients and technology partners
  • Understand a client’s financial operations, pain points, and opportunities for improvement
  • Bottom line, provide value to our clients
  • Strong business acumen: ability to discuss strategic and operational issues with C-level executives, navigate financial statements, and dissect financial operations
  • Hard worker with a can-do attitude
  • Strong communicator who inspires the confidence of others
  • Ability to negotiate contracts while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Possess (or quickly develop) deep knowledge of:
    • Commercial payments products, including FinTech solutions
    • Commercial real estate industry – not only financial operations, but also strategy, operations, and financing/capital raising
  • Experience in any of the following:
    • Technology
    • Commercial payments
    • Commercial real estate
    • Client-facing role
