JOB BRIEF (PURPOSE)
Uses financial modeling techniques to support the measurement, monitoring and analysis of KeyCorp’s interest rate risk.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Asset/Liability Risk Measurement Modeling
Performs monthly interest rate risk assessments. Participates in projects to enhance the Bank's earnings simulation process; this includes assisting in the development of customer behavior models, (e.g. deposit balance and rate behavior, loan and deposit prepayments, and loan and deposit volume growth expectations). Under the close supervision of the Interest Rate Risk Manager, the position assists in identifying and evaluating balance sheet strategies and works periodically with other areas of the Treasury Department to ensure proper modeling of investment, funding, liquidity, derivatives and hedging activities.
The position is responsible for supporting the functions of the Interest Rate Risk Team, and other internal and external
individuals and groups as required.

Interactions/Liaison​s/Interfaces:​
Interfaces regularly with Market Strategy & Execution, Balance Sheet Forecasting, Model Risk Control and Treasury Modeling
Analytics on topics to enhance the modeling process and provide information on interest rate risk.

MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS
Other responsibilities of the position include:
• Maintaining current awareness of market and economic conditions.
• Ensuring that data used in the simulation model is accurate and working with the Interest Rate Risk Manager to provide guidance to the data management team.
• Performing a variety of ad-hoc analyses related to interest rate risk, hedging, and liquidity management.
• Understanding the corporation’s balance sheet and management’s balance sheet goals.
• Developing competence in interest rate risk measurement technologies and asset/liability management concepts, and staying abreast of developments in economics, modeling techniques, securities and financial markets.
• Validating models used in the interest rate risk measurement process.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports to the Interest Rate Risk Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A bachelor’s degree is required, with a concentration in finance, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics or accounting preferred.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Excel (VLookups, Datalinks, Complex formulas, etc..) as an advanced financial analysis tool.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary.
• Fundamental understanding of capital market instruments.
• Comfort with quantitative and statistical techniques.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of banking, finance, accounting, economics and budgeting/planning with a financial institution is also desired.
• 1+ years of financial industry experience.
• Candidate must be self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to function effectively under deadlines, and possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as to be part of multiple teams.
• Understanding of a wide range of commercial and consumer banking products, including non-maturity deposits, retail and commercial loans, and mortgage products.
• Graduate degree in business, finance, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics or accounting.
