Job Description

With minimal supervision from PM and/or senior Developer can perform the following:
  • Design - Write design for programs, files /system working with the clients and BA for small to medium projects
  • Develop - Write medium to difficult complexity programs.
  • Test - Define system tests, conduct tests and verify correctness for small to medium projects.
  • Deploy -See Implementation and Transition Support
  • Deploy - Migrate components to higher environments via established standards
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 3 years’ experience in application development related processes.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with others, and independently.
  • Broad-based development skills.
  • Master in a core discipline. Consistently high quality.
  • Provides development solutions.
  • Develops and utilizes automated testing tools.
  • Expands beyond comfort zone in solution alternatives.
  • Develops variety of alternatives at a strategic level.

  • Proficient across single database architecture with developing skills on other database technologies.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Participates in the project planning and estimation process by offering up solutions and working with others to encourage idea generation
  • Proactively communicates progress, and raises concerns of any potential impacts
  • Participates actively in solution analysis and creation of technical design, and evaluates 3rd party solutions as applicable
  • Utilizes knowledge of Key's technology landscape, understands corporate technology strategy
  • Acts as SME for Business Analysts and System and Data Architects to define overall system design and detailed technical requirements.
  • Integrates 3rd party solutions as applicable
  • Creates a System Design that is useable and efficient and can articulate it successfully to others
  • Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules and test activities/results and other areas such as error handling and backup/recovery procedures.
  • Complete successful Unit testing results and recommends turn over to ETS within schedule and budget. Encourages all other team members to do the same.
  • Create appropriate System documentation and communicate it to the appropriate parties in a clear and timely fashion.
  • Leads the deployment of new modules, upgrades and fixes.
  • Completes appropriate System Documentation clearly and effectively and communicates to others.
  • Offers up alternative Development tasks to save a project time and money.
  • Communicates when development tasks could be at risk.
  • Serves as a mentor to Developers on the topics of Iterative PM and PLC.
  • Has basic understanding of delivery methodologies.
  • Create multiple packages as required for moving code to production in mainframe or distributed packaging tool for medium.
  • Update or create scheduling documentation
  • Create and follow change request to completion.
  • Write documentation for code / jobs/ schedules.
  • Prepare training materials for project turn over.
  • Write transition plan for medium to large projects.
  • Understands both application and project life cycles
  • Understands the application and how it interfaces with other applications
  • Can speak to most processes and functions of the application
