Job Description


The DRS Business Analyst II will support the overall mission of the Dealer Retail Services department and be a key internal resource to Sales, Credit, and Operations in the areas of data mining, reporting, and analytics. The successful incumbent will be expected to provide complex, highly specialized analytical, technical, and operational support, and collaborate with internal and external partners in order to achieve departmental goals.


• Develop a thorough understanding of the business and its functions, processes, operations, customers, and competitive environment.
• Keep abreast of business and market trends which may affect business department. Track industry sales and market share data for Dealer Retail Services and competitors. Prepare and analyze key metrics.
• Train and mentor junior analysts
• Mine/explore data in order to identify populations warranting further analysis.
• Create and maintain effective and complete documentation on program coding, processes, and output.
• Translate complex business requirements into programming language and complete code development.
• Validate business logic to ensure that it meets end-user requirements.
• Identify and explore alternative, effective methods to meet user requirements. Validate output to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Develop, update and maintain reports (daily/monthly/quarterly, etc.) of key business metrics and monitor actual performance against the plan on a monthly basis.
• Perform predictive analysis and effectively communicate results, insights, and recommendations to business leadership.
• Develop and produce complex departmental reports and dashboards to include, but not limited to, project or product strategy analysis, profitability, historical reporting, work flow analysis, and financial analysis
• Perform ad hoc analyses to support business decisions. Provide analysis and recommendations to management regarding results.
• Provide support and problem resolution of database issues.
• Participate in developing system/process enhancement in order to improve process controls, improve efficiency, and mitigate risk.
• Participate in and facilitate information sharing with your manager, business partners, and peers, in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure widespread communication.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of new projects, products, programs, and plans to achieve short and long term business objectives.
• Participate with RRG SOX team in identifying and testing of key controls.
• Analyze the financial and business implications of pricing and program initiatives.
• Provide analytical support to Quantitative Analysis team in developing and maintaining complex models around pricing, profitability, and loss forecasting.
• Provide support for semi-annual fair lending analysis around dealer mark-ups.
• Provide analytical support for CCAR Retail Model for indirect auto.
• Support various regulatory/compliance/RRG requirements as needed.
• Perform other assignments/projects as requested by management.


• Bachelor’s degree in business related field (Business, Finance, Accounting)
• 5+ years of financial services industry experience, preferably in consumer lending.
• Expertise in SAS development (SAS EG and/or Mainframe SAS)
• SQL-server experience (administration a plus)
• Working understanding of data mart table structure, relationships and design
• Experience working within mainframe and web-based data warehouse and data mart environments
• Core competencies to include consumer lending and loan accounting concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret financial results and business indicators to identify trends and opportunities.
• Proven expertise in forecasting/strategic analysis.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
• Effectively communicate with both technical and operational teams
• Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete responsibilities timely to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced and detail oriented environment
