ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF):
Serves as the account executive for commercial clients and develops/maintains a "trusted advisor" relationship with clients based on knowledgeable advice that is aligned to the clients' business objectives and lifecycle. Develops new business and builds strong relationships with prospects. Drives financial performance through profitable revenue growth and quality credit.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR RM I:
Risk Management
Assists RM to originate thorough discussion draft for the effective communication of information from the field to the analytical resources within the centralized underwriting group, provide information to begin deal dialogue, endorse deal strength, present identified risks and mitigations, and but not limited to propose deal structure. (This work would be performed for all credit and credit equivalent exposures, i.e. CAP, FX, interest rate and energy derivatives)
Knowledge of Credit Policy & Guidelines to help direct conversations and provide insight on proposed loan structures
Ensures an efficient and effective transfer of knowledge from the Relationship Manager, Credit Campus and approving Credit Officer. Assists RM in providing value-added input and support to the approving Credit Officer through the use of risk/mitigant analysis. Works as member of relationship management team executing relationship strategies for credit and non-credit product delivery. Work with clients to ensure timely collection of financial statements needed to monitor performance. Ensures lines of credit are renewed in a timely manner

Sales and Service
Prepares client proposals, presentation and pitch books, identifying opportunities for presenting solutions and advice in consultation with a Relationship Manager. Assists the Relationship Managers in providing the client with knowledge in key product areas: treasury services, derivatives, equipment finance, etc. Obtain sufficient product knowledge to effectively identify potential opportunities through preliminary prospect calling. Assembles a cross-functional team to quickly respond to customer requests when not able to address requests personally. Knows when and how to ask Relationship Manager for assistance and/or bring in a team of experts.Attends periodic client meetings, as needed
Prepare ROE analytics as directed by RM and/or RTM. Participates in business development activities by identifying cross-sell opportunities in client group. Participates in client calling initiatives with Relationship Manager and/or as the lead on assigned clients. Manages account relationships as assigned. Function as the primary back-up for Relationship Manager(s). Becomes the team’s research expert – understands research resources
Effectively sets priorities among client maintenance responsibilities. Executes and leads the Middle Market team’s data stewardship approach, enabling accurate data flow, client insight, and sales activity to occur at the enterprise and district level. Responsible for organizing and maintaining the following functions and tools for Relationship Managers and team: Relationship reviews, CE Desktop, Prospect lists, Clients’ industry articles. Interface with Treasury Services and other Product Specialists. Industry research


Administrative:
Prepares client proposals, presentation and pitch books, identifying opportunities for presenting solutions and advice in consultation with a Relationship Manager. Practices disciplined use of the technology, tools and procedures
Manages account relationships as assigned. Functions as the primary back-up for Relationship Manager(s). Acts as liaison with Service Officers and Monitoring Officer to assure compliance with operating and loan agreements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR RM:
Serves as the Trusted Financial Advisor to clients, and functions as the Commercial Banking client "expert" and the go- to person for the client. Develops focused strategies for acquiring, retaining and growing select clients. Leads all business development efforts for specific client and/or prospect base. Drives a focused business development effort by developing a clear and holistic understanding of the client's or prospect's business/industry. Analyzes data and topical information relevant to the client's business and industry. Viewed by the client as a business partner (financial strategist), is able to share a valuable financial perspective. Prepares for client reviews, identifying opportunities for presenting unsolicited solutions/advice. Provides the client with knowledge in key product areas (cash management, derivatives, equipment finance, etc.) and educates the client on Key's capabilities. Maintains active prospecting effort, including identification, qualification and calling. Consistently balances prospecting efforts and quality client maintenance responsibilities. Develops active Center of Influence referral network. Assembles cross- functional team to quickly respond to customer requests when not able to address requests personally. Knows when and how to bring in teams of experts. Identifies cross- sell opportunities and partners with Product Specialists to structure, coordinate and sponsor credit and non- credit products/services. Solves internal obstacles for the client with a sense of urgency and finds the right way to get things done for the client. Acts as client advocate while adhering to sound business practices. Drives a culture of creative and strategic thinking to arrive at multiple potential ways to achieve identified client goals. Maximizes profitability of assigned portfolio by effectively selling the value Key provides. Improves functional/technical sales and credit expertise continuously and transfers this knowledge to team members. Partners effectively with Credit Officers, as the first level sponsor for credit decisions. Leads and participates in credit processes and assumes ultimate accountability for all portfolio activities/issues ensuring sound asset quality, including underwriting, structuring and portfolio management activities. Directs the preparation of all Asset Quality Reports and new Risk Rating models to assure accurate risk assessment of assigned portfolio. Resolves out of formula situations on borrowing base facilities.

REQUIRED QUALICATIONS FOR RM I:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 – 5 years of financial services related experience
Excellent client relationship skills and superior partnering skills
Deep knowledge of bank products
Demonstrated sound credit, analytical skills, and financial acumen
Established excellent written and verbal communication skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR RM:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or related field. Minimum 5 - 7 years of financial services related experience. Established business development skills. Extensive knowledge of bank products. Proven outstanding credit skills, analytical skills and financial acumen. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confirmed superior client relationship and internal partnering skills. Ability to use applicable equipment, which may include: PC, Microsoft Office and various Key proprietary systems e.g. Desktop, etc.
