About the Job
Market Risk performs oversight of the Fixed Income, Equities, Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate and Commodity Derivatives Trading activity. The individual in this role will perform a broad range of quantitative analysis to support the Market Risk function and will interface with Traders (risk takers), Technology, Senior Managers, Compliance, Credit, Model Risk and Accounting to manage risk against policies and limits.

Essential Job Functions
  • Analyze and control daily risk metrics produced on trading activities including Fixed Income, Interest Rates Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives and Foreign Exchange.
  • Perform Model Validations among various Trading, Middle Office and Risk Management systems that include:
    • Understanding the conceptual framework and assumptions of the models
    • Assessing model performance through price replication, benchmarking and backtesting.
    • Support how models are used in the business decision making process
  • Support the Front Office on pre-deal Counterparty Credit Risk PFE/CVA requests.
  • Coordinate with other groups including Information Technology to define specifications and production roll-outs for the Risk and Middle Office systems.
  • Interface with Technology, vendor, and project teams to advance Market Risk’s development and implementation objectives.
  • Guide and manage Market Risk’s participation in corporate and departmental priority projects
  • Supports Market Risk policies and processes

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong preference for a Master's degree in finance, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative field.
  • 1+ years’ experience and advanced knowledge of finance including valuation methodologies, understanding of capital markets, financial instrument modeling, Value at Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office with advanced experience in Excel and VBA.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills
