2019 KeyBanc Capital Markets Finance Summer Analyst Program – Cleveland, Ohio

The Summer Analyst program provides an excellent opportunity for senior-level banker and client exposure and higher, immediate “hands-on” experience.

KBCM Finance provides specialized accounting and finance support for KBCM management, including daily monitoring and reporting on the regulatory net capital and liquidity for the company. Team members are cross-trained on various functions to provide support the institutional equities, fixed income secondary trading, securities underwriting, M&A and debt placement advisory businesses that operate within the KBCM institutional broker-dealer.

Job duties may include:
• Recording daily cash movements to the general ledger, requiring extensive interaction with
senior staff responsible for investment banking and equity research accounting support. Cash
journal entries also include recording various operating revenues and expenses.
• Assist in closing the books and records for the firm during the first two business days of each
month. This function includes, but is not limited to, recording journal entries to accrue
revenues and expenses in accordance with US GAAP, reconciling accounts and reporting and
analysis.
• Provide support to senior finance staff responsible for investment banking accounting, as
needed.
• Take ownership of an initiative to perform tax apportionment for KBCM to ensure revenues
are allocated appropriately across various taxing jurisdictions.
• Take ownership of an initiative to improve the upload of data into KBCM’s commissions
processing system.
• Assist in various audit initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
• Graduating with a degree May 2020 with relevant coursework in accounting
• Outstanding academic achievement (minimum GPA 3.5)
• Relevant work or internship experience
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Demonstrated positions of responsibility and leadership
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Eligibility to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
