The Senior Product Marketing Manager will play an important leadership role as the central product marketing leader for Laurel Road’s Student Loan Digital Platform. The position will be responsible for partnering with Engineering on developing and managing product roadmaps based on customer and partner feedback, be the main resource for insights to ensure a competitive product value proposition and interface with other colleagues within Marketing to develop compelling educational tools and robust marketing plans. Ultimately, the incumbent will be responsible for the product value proposition, seamless delivery of enhancements and marketing results. The Senior Product Marketing Manager will also be responsible for budget management and forecasting as it relates to marketing channels to ensure marketing managers’ plans are able to achieve expected results. Beyond working closely with Engineering, the incumbent will work closely with Customer Service and Underwriting to develop tactics that could improve user experience throughout the platform with the goal of optimizing conversion rates and delivering a best-in-class product experience. The position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and consistency across all marketing materials including clear and compelling messaging and uncovering customer insights that can meaningfully inform product enhancements.
  • Operates as marketing point of contact for Student Loan Refinance Product across all internal groups including Engineering, Operations, Finance and other Marketing colleagues.
  • Designs detailed customer journeys and works closely with Engineering to implement automation to facilitate those journeys within the platform and Marketing Automation tools.
  • Works closely with cross-functional team to influence and inform student loan product road map and upcoming release schedule, addressing applicant feedback and insights from competitive platforms with product enhancements and workflow improvements.
  • Works with executive leadership and channel managers to develop annual marketing plan across multiple channels including, but not limited to, direct mail, email, refer a friend, digital, and events.
  • Collaborates with marketing channel owners to design and implement marketing plans to generate interest and drive volume as well as manages product-specific forecast and budget across channels.
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of marketing activities and adjusts future strategies and forecasts accordingly.
  • Creates compelling and educational product and customer-facing content in partnership with creative team.
  • Monitors customer insights, development and satisfaction and creates action-oriented plans to address feedback including but not limited to working with Engineering on platform enhancements.
  • Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
  • Experience in digital product management and/or bringing digital products to market from concept to launch.
  • Creative and solution-oriented problem solver, with experience in digital customer experience and solutions.
  • Experience working with Engineering teams to define product roadmaps and related requirements needed to provide clarity for product builds and releases.
  • Strong team player who can build strong working relationships, collaborate effectively across the marketing team and multiple stakeholder groups, and levels of leadership.
  • Experience developing and executing an end-to-end cross-channel marketing plan.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and speak with confidence.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker who is comfortable expressing ideas to management and external partners.
  • Strong organization and time management skills for effective project planning and management.
  • Attention to detail given regulated environment and focus on compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial services industry a plus.
  • College degree; 5-7+ years of product marketing and/or industry experience
