Job Description

Job Functions

  • Works closely with the Product Owner to determine how to schedule UX for new epics and features
  • Collaborates with product managers, business analysts and developers to construct design solutions
  • Ensures that UX adheres to a research-based process for designing new experiences
  • Shares ideas early and often to gain consensus with design team peers
  • Provides detailed functional and visual requirements to the implementation team
  • Validates that concepts have been properly implemented with developers
  • Provides testing and design reviews to ensure that the vision has been properly coded before launch

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a strong alignment with Product Owner and Technology teams
  • Assume shared ownership of the product roadmap
  • Champion UX as a demand source driving the digital product improvements
  • Foresee UX needs several sprints in advance and manage the work load accordingly
  • Define research objectives related to product roadmap
  • Procure outside resources and services for squad needs (ex: copy writing, research)

Expertise
  • Possess a broad vision for the end-to-end experience, both current and future states
  • Obsessive focus on detailed micro-interactions
  • Rapidly adapt the “level of zoom” between broad UX strategy and tactical implementation
  • Strategize and participate in user research activities

Primary Output and Deliverables:
  • Stay abreast of UX development across all squads
  • Develop and maintain a given domain of a broader UX roadmap
  • Define generative research objectives
  • Conduct and manage UX Spikes with the broader team
  • Mentor and provide guidance to UX designers

Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of iOS, Android, and/or web products
  • 5+ years UI/UX experience designing consumer facing products
  • Portfolio demonstrating examples of iOS, Android, and/or responsive web design principles
  • Ability to autonomously pursue elegant solutions to open-ended problems
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Ability to present projects to company stakeholders
  • Proven ability to create interactive prototypes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and champion a design vision
  • Strong written communication skills with ability to make transparent design documentation using Confluence
  • Ability to create, manage and maintain flow charts, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups
  • Effective use of time management
  • Experience working with user research and conceptualizing stakeholder interviews
  • Experience working with Agile product and development teams
  • Experience with design systems and pattern libraries
