About the Job

The Senior Audit Credit Strategist performs a critical function within Credit Risk Review. A strategist serves as oversight of credit exams, coaches and develops staff members in areas of expertise, and contributes to the risk assessment and overall team strategy.

*Position can be filled in Cleveland or Buffalo.

Essential Job Functions

  • Expert understanding of audit concepts within planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Demonstrates ability to execute multiple assignments by required deadlines; identifies obstacles within the scope of assignments and proactively initiates appropriate solutions;
  • independently demonstrates ability to prioritize to most efficiently accomplish objectives
  • Strong business and audit writing skills; can cohesively present and organize more complex information and adapts message to audience within the scope of assignments.
  • Formally documents complex findings for management.
  • Demonstrates ability to present information to team, manager, AGA and GA.
  • Formally documents complex findings for management with minimal to no management oversight.
  • Demonstrates ability to prepare or deliver a formal presentation or training within area of expertise.
  • Demonstrates ability to build relationships with senior leadership in area of expertise.
  • Strong understanding of products, business, industry and regulatory concept(s) within assigned LOBs; solid understanding of businesses and functions across the bank.
  • May be a subject matter expert (advanced knowledge) in a small number of products
  • Independently monitors for changes and best practices in area of subject matter expertise; provides updates to RRG senior leadership and/or staff as appropriate.
  • Able to develop and execute a strategy around a risk discipline.
  • Sought out by peers and leaders for information related to their area of expertise.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor staff and team members
  • Plays a leadership role in team, within area of expertise; plays a leadership role in RRG project initiatives.
  • Demonstrates influence/challenge skills within team, across RRG, and with client.
  • Demonstrates ability to build relationships with senior-level leadership as trusted risk advisor
  • Ability to teach/knowledge transfer expertise area to staff for related exams
  • Thinks strategically about area of expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or comparable years of credit risk experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and/or credit risk. 4+ years of related business experience.
