Job Brief :
The Predictive Modeling & Advanced Analytics Team is responsible for financial model development and implementation for commercial credit portfolios and economic capital. This position is primarily responsible for development and monitoring of commercial credit risk models and supporting Economic Capital. The models are used to support various Lines of Business. This position needs to communicate with Line of Business Executives and Model Risk Management. This highly visible position presents a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to serve as a senior level resource and resident expert on business practices, credit underwriting guidelines, and credit policies.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Individual will perform a broad range of quantitative analysis to develop and test in-house and vendor commercial credit risk models; includes work on coding, data processing, creation of methodologies, testing, ongoing monitoring and periodic tuning
  • Explore forward thinking analytical and methodologies for model development, model testing, and analysis of model outputs
  • Work closely with other commercial teams, facilitate collaboration with line of business and credit executives
  • Perform ongoing monitoring; provide analytical results to Model Owners and assist in evaluating model reliability/performance
  • Write/review documentation to comply with KeyBank model governance standards and regulatory expectations

Required Qualifications/Competencies:
  • MS/MA in statistics, mathematics, economics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quantitative model development
  • Superior programing skills (SQL,SAS, Python, R or similar)
  • Strong corporate finance knowledge and familiarity with financial statements
  • Skilled at creating technical documentations
  • Extensive data management experience and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional project management and organization skills, ability to support several projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Organized self-starter with the ability to think and work independently and creatively
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with key stakeholders. Ability to translate financial modeling terminology into terms understandable to diverse groups and give cohesive presentations
  • Team player with ability to work within a highly collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience in building rating models for PD/LGD/EAD
  • Experience with commercial lending products or vendor’s models such as CreditEdge, RiskCalc, LossCalc and RiskFrontier
  • Firm understanding of commercial credit underwriting/approval methodologies, including specialized industries, acquisition financing, leveraged finance, real estate finance and bank participations
  • Understanding and knowledge of commercial credit policies, procedures, and loan systems (e.g. Moody’s Risk Analyst)
  • Advanced skills in Excel with knowledge of spreadsheet functionality and VBA
  • Familiar with Tableau or other business intelligence tool for visualizing data
