Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF):
The Retail Analyst reports to the Retail Analyst Team Leader. They are responsible for supporting the overall mission of the MOTT/BOTT program working to identify any areas of operational, security, compliance or risk opportunities at the branch, market and regional level. They partner closely with the Branch Managers and Operations Leaders to ensure ongoing monitoring of critical functions and provide reporting to ensure follow up and remediation efforts are completed timely and within an acceptable manner. They support all internal and external auditing type requests by coordinating the collection and review of documentation needed and pursue remediation of any exceptions notated. They support the exception reporting needs for the branches they are assigned and work with the OL’s on any persistent issues and opportunities. They will also participate in GRC processes and remediation planning as needed to support the Retail Bank. The Retail Analyst will also work closely with the Branch Operations Team and the Retail Sales and Service Group to support projects and initiatives that impact the Branches. The expectation will be for the Retail Analyst to be in their assigned branches in person at least once per quarter. More frequent visits may be required due to issues identified or training support needed. The Retail Analyst serves as a go-to support person for the Operations Leaders in the area to ensure common understanding of operational and compliance risk.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The role of the Retail Analyst is to inspect and ensure that all branch operations are effective and compliance requirements are met. They work with the Branch Leadership teams in their assigned markets to ensure feedback and remediation of any and all issues identified. They also support the Branch Operations team nationally as needed on audits, testing, projects and Retail Transformation initiatives. The typical branch span for this role will be approximately 30-35 branches. Travel is required and an essential part of this position.

Risk, Loss Prevention and Compliance:
• Inspects the BOTT results from the Branches in their span of control to ensure compliance of regulatory, security, loss prevention and internal controls. Provides guidance and direction to branch partners to ensure accountability for results and follow through on identified exceptions.
• Completes the MOTT tasks for Branches in their span of control to test for compliance on high risk operational and compliance functions within the Branches including new account opening, cash audits, credit card application scanning, NSF Overdraft Approval review and Cash Audit and Negotiatble Items assessment. MOTT tasks change as our risk landscape changes over time and team members are expected to stay abreast of all policies and procedures within the Branch network along with changes in testing execution. MOTT tasks include high risk processes which must be tested monthy, quarterly, bi-annually and annually.
• Coordinates reporting of all identified MOTT and BOTT exceptions and work with Branch partners to document clearing of the exceptions and communicates with the OL’s and ARL’s to ensure appropriate HR actions are taken when needed to support accountability for repeat offenders.
• Escalates any trends and issues identified that require additional follow up and research to the Retail Analyst Team Leader. Participates in change management planning in response to new trends and issues.
• Monitors exception reporting for branches in their span of control to ensure Branch teams are aware of exceptions and are consistently clearing exceptions on a routine basis. Serves as the control point in their market for this function. Provides reporting and follow up to the MOL, ARL and ROL as needed.
• Partners with ARL and OL on compliance training that is past due for immediate resolution.
• Supports the Retail Bank GRC process through testing support, Risk Ownership and Control Ownership as needed. Actively participates in the process to identify opportunities for remediation.
• Provides operational support to the branches assigned by serving as a liaison with both Branch Operations and Field Leadership. Interfaces regularly with Risk Review Group, Compliance, and Risk partners. Assists with the coordination of any internal testing needed in support of these groups. Ensures the branches in their span understand the information requests and provide appropriate turnaround.
• Supports the MOL, ROL, ARL and RSL’s as needed on risk and compliance issues. Escalates support needs as appropriate to Team Leaders.
• Partners with Physical Security to review quarterly trends and findings in their markets and ensures issues and gaps are clearly outlined and remediated in conjunction with Field Leadership.
• Supports the inspection of Play 5 while visiting branches to complete MOTT tasks.
• Ensures that high risk procedure changes are implemented in a standard manner across their branches through visual inspection and data collection as needed.
• Inspects Branches to ensure the Branch Operations Responsibility Guide is being completed in a standard and efficient manner and within published deadlines.
• Inspects documentation to ensure employees are adhering to published performance standards.
• Inspects Fee Collection performance to standards in branches assigned.
• Maintains and continuously expands knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations and industry best practices through ongoing education and training.
• Supports the Branch Operations team through participation in various projects in planning and execution phases. Ensures communication with the Branch Operations team while serving as the voice of the field leveraging partnerships and developing workable solutions.
• Special assignments and Community involvement as needed.
• Focuses on consistency of operational processes and acts as a resource for operational questions for OL’s.
• Performs consistent branch visits to monitor and observe branch operations
• Monitors area performance in operational metrics and makes improvement recommendations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• College degree or equivalent work experience with emphasis on Branch Operations and Risk Management.
• Minimum of 2 years cash handling experience.
• Minimum of 3 years branch operations experience.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high level projects and competing priorities with little supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, build and manage relationships, and work in a dynamic, fast paced team environment.
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills, decision making and ability to drive continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate teamwork and accountability with strong interpersonal skills and the ability
