Job Description


The Research Analyst will be a member of Key Private Bank’s Investment Analytics Group (IAG). The purpose of the IAG is to support the Key Private Bank Investment Center by managing and performing essential processes for the creation and delivery of client investment proposals. Additionally the position assists in special projects involing manager research and portfolio strategy related activities such as those involving fulfillment models as requested by senior professionals of Key Private Bank. The position will report to the Director of Portfolio Strategy.


  • Assists field Portfolio Managers and Strategists by managing, continuously developing and performing essential processes related to the creation of investment proposals for current and prospective clients. The Investment Proposal process includes, but is not limited to:
    • Working closely with Portfolio Managers/Strategists to identify client risk profiles, investment objectives, and other client specific considerations to create a custom proposal with detailed, forward-looking recommendations.
    • Analyzing portfolios to determine if the asset allocation, risk exposure, liquidity and other factors are optimal and aligned with the client’s objectives and contraints
    • Articulating asset class and strategy level expectations/considerations as well as providing guidance at the total portfolio level.
    • Continually enhancing the quality and efficiency of the proposal process. This may include exploring new software or platforms.
    • Working under specific time constraints and process at times a high volume of propsals while adhering to deadlines
  • Assists Senior Management with special projects including presentation design and creation, manager research and other projects such as those involving fulfillment models, reports prepared for Executive Leadership, and so forth. A candidate should be able to:
    • Prepare and deliver visually appealing, clear, concise, consistent communications and related collateral materials that are in line with the investment management philosophy, process, and guidance.
    • Demonstrate exceptional presentation and design skills.
    • Demonstrate exceptional project/task and organizational management skills as well as attention to detail and excellent follow-through.


  • Undergraduate degree in a business related field.
  • Interest in or is currently pursuing investment management oriented designation or advanced degree
  • 2+ years experience in investment management field.
  • Experience with investment management/fee based model and various types of investment solutions, preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, presentation and design skills.
  • High-level of proficiency using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Morningstar Direct, Tableau and Bloomberg
  • Excellent organizational skills and a process-oriented mindset
  • Strong sense of self yet one who is capable of exceling in a collaborative environment and possesses uncompromising integrity
