Responsible for managing a multi-billion-dollar Consumer CD and IRA Deposit portfolio to achieve the Line of Business’ revenue and growth objectives. The Retail CD and IRA Product Manager will be accountable for optimization of the Consumer CD and IRA Deposit Balance Sheet by focusing on and driving improvements in client relationship and client retention. The Product Manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and leading teams of cross-functional partners to execute growth initiatives. The Product Manager will work closely with the rest of the Portfolio management team to execute strategic initiatives and monitor portfolio performance across the Consumer Deposit balance sheet.
  • Responsible for the overall optimization of the CD and IRA deposit portfolio by managing interest expense and client retention.
  • Manage the relationship with our various partners and in particular our Retirement Operations partners.
  • Collaborate with segment, product leadership, retail deposit teams and our Finance partners on the development of accurate portfolio, production, pricing and revenue forecasts.
  • Align growth strategy with the business’ roadmap and growth expectations.
  • Manage the KeyBank USA (KeyDirect) deposit portfolio.
  • Partner with Marketing and our Sales & Service teams on the development of marketing programs that support our overall Retail strategy first but align with the unique goals and objectives of the deposit portfolio.
  • Provide thought and executional leadership.
  • Bring to the team a strong understanding of analytical tools (SAS, Tableau etc.), the ability to gather data from multiple sources, the ability to work with these tools without aide and the ability to analyze data to make actionable recommendations.
  • Be a leader in determining how we best utilize data to drive deeper client relationships, drive new insights and actionable recommendations and ultimately maximize revenue.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for CDs and IRAs across the organization, ensuring that product specific needs and requirements are properly communicated and documented.
  • Must develop a good understanding of retirement products, laws and regulations relating to the management of retirement products and accounts
  • Serve as project lead on cross functional teams for both short- and medium-term projects. Will need to lead projects from early stages through completion
  • Independently analyze identified issues, appropriately escalate and manage through resolution.
  • Evaluate recent results versus plan and review drivers of any variances.
  • Evaluate balance growth positioning relative to financial projections and competitors, update growth strategies as needed, communicate updates and execute short term tactics with the longer-term impact considered.

  • Ability to articulate complicated data/information in a summarized story for leadership.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once and prioritize delivery based on key objectives.
  • Prepare business reviews to highlight findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop recommendations to advise senior management on high-priority initiatives, including growth strategy, product and segment strategies, and cross-business initiatives.
  • Guide / execute analysis of our markets, competitors, products and customers.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal and our 2nd and 3rd lines of defense as needed to properly manage our products.
  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or another quantitative discipline (Masters preferred)
  • 4+ years’ experience in the banking industry and/or product management expertise
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, SAS and Tableau skills
  • Ability to work with a team of knowledgeable professionals and partners
  • Ability to size and prioritize large-scale analytical initiatives across businesses
  • Ability to work effectively with senior and middle level managers and with large interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active-listening); ability to structure and deliver clearly articulated presentations
  • Understanding of the business and financial drivers for the Retail Bank is a plus
