Job Description


  • Under direct supervision, responsible for performing research and analysis in partnership with Line of Business leadership.
  • Provide support with the implementation of strategic and systemic intiatives and serve as a subject matter expert within the mortgage orgination business with respect to:
    • System competency
    • Mortgage acumen, including industry and product knowledge
    • Process/procedure understanding
    • Hands on coaching & mentoring
  • Oversight of performance metrics to include compliance with internal & external regulatory standards
  • Conduct a due diligence review of Home Lending applications, analyzing credit documents, income documents, assets, and all applicable compliance documentation.
  • Analyze and review trends, and provides feedback to new & existing staff to ensure individual, department and organizational goals are met.
  • Determines best practices and supports implementation of same. Assists in the development of recommendations to solve problems and issues related to business operations and client experience.
  • Participate in data analysis reviews and confidently communicate with Line of Business leadership, sharing the accomplishments and/or opportunity trends.
  • Act as subject matter expert with the Learning & Development team and Line of Business partners to enhance training and/or opportunities of knowledge reinforcement.
  • Possesses a current and thorough understanding of various product/program guidelines, necessary conditions for approval, and investor specific guidelines.
  • Responsible for understanding the evolving mortgage business and associated compliance requirements.
  • Build collaborative working partnerships within the business unit and internal partners to ensure successful end result.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience within the consumer mortgage banking industry
  • Minimum 2-5 yrs. experience in mortgage originations, inclusive of sales and/or fulfillment related processes.
  • Proven ability in coaching and mentoring.
  • Show enthusiasm for residential lending and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding established goals
  • Proven ability in the successful execution of essential job functions within a specific project.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative partnerships among the business unit and internal partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized and flexible
  • Strong research skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills, Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Ability to work independently and jointly in unstructured environments in a self-directed way
