Laurel Road, a brand of Key Bank, is part of the expanding FinTech space: we offer Mortgages, Student Loans, and Personal Loans through a digital online experience, We simplify the process for both borrowers and bankers, while increasing choices of products, improving tracking, and offering a positive banking experience.

The Manager of Mortgage Sales leads a team of Mortgage Loan Officers for the Physician Mortgage Program with Laurel Road. The Mortgage Sales team is responsible for mortgage originations through Laurel Road's referral sources from the medical professional community.


  • Directs oversight of LOs/LAMs and strategies for handling inbound volume and plans for continued growth of the team.
  • Defines and develops required infrastructure and measurement/metrics systems to manage function, measure/report performance and service levels of the team
  • Develops and implements overall market strategy to increase production volume.
  • Collaborates with team leaders to evaluate team production performance including pull through metrics. Supports and assists team leaders in management activities such as, efforts to recruit, hire, and staff with qualified individuals.
  • Communicates and implements company policies and procedures.
  • Oversees management of P&L for mortgage origination.
  • Provides strategic direction, business plans, and oversight to ensure maximum production while maintaining efficient and accurate operations.
  • Develops/executes division market strategy to increase volume, market share and profitability.
  • Promotes the brand and supports efforts that enhance organic and strategic growth.
  • Builds, develops and leads in a dynamic environment a team of LOs/LAMs comfortable working with progressive technology.
  • Collaborates with management on defining, building and launching technology, general business operations and system maintenance.
  • Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.


  • 10+ years’ experience in mortgage origination, 5+ years in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience working with senior management level employees in multiple markets required.
  • Market knowledge including key competitors, high profile recruits and potential business opportunities.
  • Strong managerial, organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated leadership, enthusiasm, and ability to recruit and motivate others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and build strong working relationships with multiple departments.
  • Ability to successfully recruit, mentor, and manage team leaders and LAMs in assigned market.
  • Experience operating/overseeing a small to mid-sized Mortgage Originations team in a retail, direct to consumer or blended environment
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and effectively manage people.
  • Technology savvy


  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Must have current NMLS license
  • Previous management of a sales team preferred.
