Job Description - Senior Investment Analyst-Multi-Strategy Research
Reporting to the Managing Director of Asset Allocation and Portfolio Strategy, the Senior Investment Analyst, Multi-Strategy Research (MSR), will be primarily responsible for third-party manager selection, monitoring, portfolio construction and analysis for Key Private Bank’s manager of manager portfolios.

Essential Job Functions
• Participates in idea generation, sourcing, market research and analytical activities that translate into actionable investments.
• Compiles "market mapping" exercises to provide broad overview and assessments of potential traditional and non-traditional third-party investment managers for consideration.
• Demonstrates subject matter expertise within manager research and strong pattern recognition for how third-party managers would perform under different market environments.
• Organizes documentation and authors investment memorandum for new manager recommendations (peer reviewed and approved before seeking final approval from the Portfolio Strategy Committee) and effectively communicates recommendations to all relevant stakeholders in both written and oral form.
• Conducts ongoing due diligence of recommended managers and maintains "informal" quantitative and qualitative performance evaluations, holdings-based and returns-based.
• Prepares periodic manager reviews detailing performance drivers, exposures, concentrations, qualitative developments and other portfolio characteristics as specified by KPB manager monitoring requirements and communicates important developments effectively in both written and in oral form.
• Responsible for optimizing manager selection decisions, prudent allocation of risk to achieve desired return profile with acceptable levels of risk, tracking error and liquidity, and accountable for performance and communicating results, including performance attribution.
• Aids in the creation of, researches topics for, and authors client communications (white papers, research notes, etc.)
• Interacts with KPB Portfolio Strategists and other internal colleagues in a professional, respectful manner.
• Develops and maintains important internal peer relationships/networks to effectively champion the MSR team's capabilities and streamline inefficiencies as necessary.
• Promotes and supports the integration of a unified Portfolio Strategy team and a generalist culture where all staff is provided opportunities to gain knowledge in all asset classes.

Summary of Required / Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines with a minimum of 4-6 years of relevant investment management or investment consulting experience.
• CFA designation or graduate degree in business, finance, economics or related areas preferred
• Knowledge of the public equities market and managers, including familiarity with alternative investment strategies
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Team orientation and collaborative; advocate for a generalist model
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Morningstar, Bloomberg, S&P CapitalIQ and other investment analytic tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment driven by market investment conditions.
• Ability to work independently in support of various investment strategies.
• A commitment to learning and developing relationships that support department objectives and goals.
