Job Description

Essential Job Function:

Provide timely guidance and feedback to strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas of staff
Drives for results, conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure
Provides process-specific guidance
Acts as the escalation point for questions pertaining to access control
Communicates technical concepts and information in non-technical terms as required to business partners
Maintains solid working knowledge of the security functions under their leadship
Provides risk-based decisions and issue resolution
Identifies emergent training needs, process gaps and tool enhancements needed to complete or sustain remediation efforts
Promotes awareness of federal and industry regulations such as FFIEC, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, GLBA, and their impact to their area of control
Creates a network of resources to successfully accomplish the above stated functions
Provides subject matter expertise to other team members and the organization
Independently identifies and analyzes security risks, communicates risks to appropriate parties and ensures mitigation to enable risk-based business decision making
Provides security guidance and makes security decisions
Interfaces with corporate technology and line of business areas
Escalates problems in a timely manner
Builds and sustains collaborative relationships with multiple constituencies
Translates information security terminology into terms understandable to diverse groups
Responsible for the selection, development and coaching of team members



Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
5+ years information security and/or risk experience
Experience in leading teams
Broad technology knowledge from a information security perspective
Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
Ability to understand and assess complex operational and technology issues as they relate to the overall security posture of the organization
Strong technical background, risk-based analysis and problem solving skills
Excellent customer service, relationship management, process management, time management and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to plan and estimate work for team
Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and negotiation skills
Proven ability to effectively handle challenging clients and difficult political situations
Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
