Client Strategist Associate provides trust, portfolio management and financial planning support to enable Fiduciary, Portfolio and Regional Financial Planning Strategists to effectively advise clients and manage the administration of client accounts. Collaborates with Client Experience Associates to deliver a seamless client experience and an optimal level of client service. Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to expand and retain client relationships.


Provide support to assigned Fiduciary, Portfolio and Financial Planning Strategist(s):
• Provide organizational support to assigned Key Private Bank (KPB) Officer, Fiduciary Strategist (FA), Portfolio Strategist (PA) and/or Financial Planning Strategist (FPS) in execution of the KPB Sales and Client Experience process.
• End to end ownership of the client experience through collaboration, coordination and personal ownership of all client activities with KPB Sales Team (including Client Experience Associates), Wealth Services and centralized support teams. Activities are seen through to completion with proactive communication (i.e. acknowledge requests, provide an estimated time of completion and follow up).
• Act as the liaison between the client, internal partners, Wealth Services and other centralized support teams (such as Trust Operations, Trust Tax, Trust Revenue, Post Mortem, Non Profit and Real Estate).
• Provide support to all Strategist roles with meeting preparation for Relationships Reviews.
• Assist with research, preparation and support for Estate Plan, Investment and Financial Planning Discovery and Plan Presentations.
• Assist with executing trades at the Portfolio Strategist’s discretion for client accounts, if Portfolio Strategist is unavailable.
• Prepare various reports, correspondence, technical documents and special projects as requested.
• Monitor accounts on a daily basis for overdrafts and un-invested cash and keep Fiduciary and Portfolio Strategist informed
• Use cash forecasting to determine approximate amount needed in accounts over a period of time based on the account’s needs and trends, working closely with the Fiduciary and Portfolio Strategists.
• Adhere to compliance activities/support by personally owning (with direction and support from strategist) all compliance and reporting activities according to the standard set by the line of business on behalf of self and assigned strategists, including but not limited to account synopsis, Reg. 9, monthly compliance reporting and meetings.
• Assist with team transitions and book of business cleanup.
• Discover, analyze and research account problems and recommend solutions as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain orderly record keeping system ensuring maintenance of confidential account files and special reports.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with other team members to ensure high quality and timely administration of assigned relationships.
• Maintain compliance with all internal policies and procedures as well as with regulatory requirements.
• Possess a high level of knowledge of Client Experience Associate job functions and systems.
• Perform day-to-day functions on assigned accounts accurately and by necessary deadlines and/or with collaboration with Wealth Services (i.e., account coding changes including address changes, powerholders, workflows, raising cash, UPAIA adjustments, call backs for non-wire transactions> $10k, non-wire transactions if no event is set up, Bill pay, Fee changes, Gifting, Transactions - movement of money for relationships under and over $5mm in support of team associates, Discretionary Distributions, Required Minimum Distributions, LDD form Completion, Revocation/Removal, Date/Event Triggered Terminations.
• Assist Client Experience Associates with IM & T Onboarding
• Read and understand Trust Agreements and related documents for administrative purposes.
• Keep current on the latest developments in trust law, tax law and other issues related to the trust business.
• Financial Planning:
• Assist Regional Planning Specialist to coordinate financial plan construction as a liaison with the Central Planning Team.
• Provide support and expertise to internal and external users of Key Wealth Directions.

• Assist with Investment Proposals for new clients.
• Assist with executing trades at the Portfolio Strategist’s discretion for client accounts, if Portfolio Strategist is unavailable.

Build and maintain strong client contact and provide sales support:
• Identify client needs and revenue enhancement opportunities.
• May serve as primary contact for some account relationships.
• Follow-up on client issues and relay information to clients through correspondence, telephone communications and conferences.
• Assist Strategists with planning client meetings (in person and telephonically), record activity i.e. client contact and Estate Documentation Reviews in the Customer Relationship Management System (Salesforce).
• Resolve client requests and refer complex inquiries to Fiduciary, Portfolio and Financial Planning Strategists.

Actively participate on the Administration teams:
• Provide backup and support for other Client Strategists and Client Experience Associates.
• Assist with training peer associates including IM & T onboarding for Client Experience Associates
• Serve as a resource for the team on identified processing situations or other projects as needed.
• Participate in Key Private Bank efficiencies, i.e. identify issues (determine if systemic), provide solutions, and escalate if appropriate.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with other team members, Wealth Services and centralized support areas to ensure high quality and timely administration of assigned fiduciary accounts and a seamless delivery of the Client Experience.

Operational and Compliance activities
• Complete role specific coursework outlined in My Learning Center learning plans and within the KPB role specific training roadmap.
• Effectively Manage Risks and Rewards - Adhere to internal policies, laws and regulations and complete risk training by defined due dates
• Participate in KPB operational forums or other training opportunities as they become available


• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of three to five years related work experience or equivalent combination of work/educational background.
• General knowledge and understanding of fiduciary, investment and/or financial products and services.
• Demonstrated proficiency and effectiveness in client service skills (including handling client/prospect and Center of Influence (COI) inquiries and relationships), communication skills (including verbal, phone and written), and problem resolution skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency and effectiveness in organizational skills including the ability to balance multiple requests and prioritize tasks in an efficient manner or order to support multiple people.
