About the JobThe Business Architecture Manager provides strategic leadership to guide technology decisions at Key across business architecture areas. The individual will lead a team of business architects in day-to-day operations and will work with both technology and business teams to help define business-technology strategy and assuring cross-portfolio alignment. They will assist in the review and approval of the solution architecture for the delivery projects.
Essential Job Functions
  • Collaborate with solution architects (SAs) and domain architects (DAs) to develop more strategic EA guidance for projects.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of team initiatives that align the business architecture team to Key strategic efforts and goals
  • Change agent with business stake holders
  • Evaluate short-term business needs required to support key business goals and establish priorities. Consult with business, information and technical subject matter experts to identify how a given business architecture can support these goals.
  • Create future state enterprise business architecture models (business capability models and value chain models)
  • Maintain and continually evaluate current state business capability models
  • Assist in developing technology roadmaps with business capability pain point discovery and analysis Identify process improvements, opportunities and trends and introduce them into the strategic planning cycle
  • Understanding of bank, LOB, and I.T. Economics; financial analysis
  • Industry and competitor research
  • Deep business knowledge

Required QualificationsA broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
  • Experience in recognizing pain points within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies.
  • Experience in creating capability portfolios and technical roadmaps addressing gaps
  • Experience in performing industry analysis and identifying business and technology trends specific to the portfolio
  • Experience in business case creation and realization by aligning business goals to organizational capabilities
  • Experience holding deep business-centric discovery session with various stakeholders in the organization
  • Extensive experience planning and deploying either business or IT initiatives (preference for both)
  • Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
  • Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrable ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
  • Experience in acting as liaison conveying information between the business unit and their counterparts within Information Technology.
  • Must be a Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus. Must be highly reliable, trustworthy, honest, and commitment oriented
  • The ability to manage and mentor a team of business architects ensuring the development and growth of the team.
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
