JOB BRIEF (PURPOSE)
Responsible for supporting the Special Servicing department in managing all compliance and reporting not limited to audits, rating agency reviews, business and financial reporting for internal and external parties. Will work directly with all levels of Special Servicing management as well as individual contributor roles to ensure risk is mitigated and goals and objectives are met. This position should anticipant expanding its role with growth of the department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Position will report to the Vice President
- Be responsible for maintaining department risk management policies and procedures, compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, and adhering to internal procedures and controls.
- Organize, distribute, and maintain critical communication with various Trusts, Servicers, Operating Advisors, Clients, and Internal Stakeholders regarding loan & servicing agreements; including monthly servicing data, business plans, payoffs & liquidations, and various other ad hoc information.
- Work alongside senior management to coordinate the construction and delivery of fee income reporting, new business reporting, and department performance reports.
- Support department Asset Managers by monitoring servicing agreement requirements and execute plans of action to bring all special servicing loans into compliance
- Assist in the vital closing stages of Special Servicing transactions and resolutions by providing expertise and support to multiple parties (legal counsel, borrower, borrower’s counsel, title and insurance agents and other lenders etc.) to achieve a well-coordinated and timely closing. Coordinate and verify receipt of income and distribution of fees at the time of closing.
- Communicate problems and issues effectively and clearly while elevating items to senior management and asset managers as appropriate. Be a resource to asset managers, clients, and key stakeholders regarding risk management.
- Manage annual department-wide compliance processes and procedures, including RegAB Audit and Rating Agency Reporting.
MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with special projects and other assignments as necessary
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possess college degree or equivalent job-related experience
Possess computer literacy including good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Access software programs
Two years experience in commercial real estate loan credit analysis, underwriting, closing or loan servicing
Well-developed written and verbal skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a high volume environment
Some travel may be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of bank, conventional, agency, and/or commercial mortgage backed securities origination and servicing is recommended
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Analytical skills including financial analysis
Problem solving
Organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities
Initiative including the ability to complete complex tasks timely and with a minimum of supervision
